Dest<strong>in</strong>ation perfection. When we designed <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>terior <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308, we wanted it to provide<br />
truly superior comfort. One <strong>of</strong> our top priorities was to make sure that everyone had plenty <strong>of</strong> space. Part <strong>of</strong> our<br />
solution was to angle <strong>the</strong> dashboard by 30 degrees, free<strong>in</strong>g up space around <strong>the</strong> driver’s and front passenger’s knees.<br />
We also gave <strong>the</strong>m comfortable slim-backed sports seats, which created extra <strong>in</strong>ches <strong>of</strong> legroom for <strong>the</strong> rear<br />
passengers. To boost comfort levels even higher, we raised <strong>the</strong> back seats – treat<strong>in</strong>g occupants to improved visibility.<br />
To make <strong>the</strong> car feel even more spacious, we designed a huge panoramic ro<strong>of</strong> w<strong>in</strong>dow available on <strong>the</strong> 308 XT.<br />
More thought went <strong>in</strong>to ensur<strong>in</strong>g that <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>terior <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308 is a really calm place to be. We not only built<br />
<strong>in</strong> high levels <strong>of</strong> sound <strong>in</strong>sulation, but also fitted a photosensitive rear-view mirror* to prevent <strong>the</strong> driver from<br />
be<strong>in</strong>g dazzled by <strong>the</strong> car beh<strong>in</strong>d. The little th<strong>in</strong>gs became big priorities. We made sure that <strong>the</strong>re were plenty <strong>of</strong><br />
places to stow away all your family’s bits and pieces, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g a compartment <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> parcel shelf that can be accessed<br />
from <strong>the</strong> cab<strong>in</strong> or <strong>the</strong> boot, and storage <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> central armrest that’s big enough to hold six CDs. There’s even a<br />
refrigerated glovebox, a handbag hook and a sunglasses conta<strong>in</strong>er.

Petrol eng<strong>in</strong>es. The product <strong>of</strong> a co-operation between PSA and BMW, <strong>the</strong><br />
responsive, fuel-<strong>in</strong>jected 1.6 litre VTi eng<strong>in</strong>e develops 88kW and features variable valve<br />
tim<strong>in</strong>g (VVT). It supplies power exactly when you need it to ensure you can enjoy <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>Peugeot</strong> 308’s dynamic capabilities to <strong>the</strong> full. Yet, it delivers class-lead<strong>in</strong>g fuel-economy.<br />
Talk about efficiency. The XT version boasts <strong>the</strong> 1.6 litre THP eng<strong>in</strong>e, also developed <strong>in</strong><br />
partnership with PSA/BMW. It produces 110kW giv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> 308 XT unmatched driveability.<br />
HDi diesel eng<strong>in</strong>e (High Pressure Direct Injection). Our ref<strong>in</strong>ed HDi diesel eng<strong>in</strong>e is<br />
exemplary. As a PSA <strong>Peugeot</strong> Citroën <strong>in</strong>novation, it <strong>in</strong>corporates a particulate filter along with a pump that feeds fuel<br />
<strong>in</strong>to a ‘common rail’ and it is renowned for its remarkable fuel-efficiency, high levels <strong>of</strong> torque (even at low revs), plus<br />
radically low CO 2<br />
emissions. This very <strong>in</strong>telligent application <strong>of</strong> power also means that it is extremely reward<strong>in</strong>g to<br />
drive.<br />
*Depend<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> model
<strong>Peugeot</strong> and <strong>the</strong> environment. Fact: climate change is one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
biggest challenges fac<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> planet. Sadly, we can’t ignore <strong>the</strong> car’s contribution to <strong>the</strong><br />
greenhouse effect, nor turn back time. At PSA <strong>Peugeot</strong> Citroën, we’ve been concentrat<strong>in</strong>g<br />
on what we can do, keep<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> future <strong>in</strong> m<strong>in</strong>d.<br />
Because we’re genu<strong>in</strong>ely committed to reduc<strong>in</strong>g CO 2<br />
emissions, we’ve <strong>in</strong>vested heavily <strong>in</strong> new technologies and <strong>in</strong>novations<br />
designed to make our cars and vans more fuel-efficient (believe it or not, we’ve even been develop<strong>in</strong>g bi<strong>of</strong>uels from plants<br />
that absorb CO 2<br />
while <strong>the</strong>y’re grow<strong>in</strong>g). We’ve also focused on clean<strong>in</strong>g up <strong>the</strong> air. We pioneered <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> FAP particle<br />
filter <strong>in</strong> our HDi eng<strong>in</strong>e, reduc<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> amount <strong>of</strong> pollut<strong>in</strong>g particles released <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> air by an <strong>in</strong>credible 1 000%.<br />
And our hard work is cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g to pay <strong>of</strong>f. We’ve managed to reduce <strong>the</strong> CO 2<br />
emissions, from <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308’s 80kW<br />
1.6 HDi eng<strong>in</strong>e to a 130g, <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> comb<strong>in</strong>ed cycle. To ensure that we can all brea<strong>the</strong> easier, we’re switch<strong>in</strong>g from pa<strong>in</strong>ts<br />
conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g organic solvents to water-based alternatives that discharge nearly five times fewer volatile organic compounds<br />
<strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> atmosphere, yet still look as good and last as long as <strong>the</strong>ir less friendly counterparts. Worried about landfill?<br />
So are we. That’s why at least 95% <strong>of</strong> every <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308 is now recyclable, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> metal, glass, fluids, plastic materials<br />

and rubber. And we’re well on our way to creat<strong>in</strong>g a fully recyclable car, which br<strong>in</strong>gs us back to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308. It’s <strong>the</strong><br />
latest <strong>in</strong> our ever-<strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g l<strong>in</strong>e <strong>of</strong> highly fuel-efficient cars. We may not be able to repair <strong>the</strong> damage that mank<strong>in</strong>d’s already<br />
done to <strong>the</strong> environment, but we are committed to do<strong>in</strong>g everyth<strong>in</strong>g we can to produce vehicles that work with it, ra<strong>the</strong>r<br />
than aga<strong>in</strong>st it.<br />
PERFECT PEACE OF MIND.<br />
Euro NCAP. When we designed <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308, we didn’t just want to<br />
design <strong>the</strong> perfect driver’s car. We also wanted to create an optimally safe car.<br />
So it’s hardly surpris<strong>in</strong>g that it was <strong>award</strong>ed five stars <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Euro NCAP* tests – <strong>the</strong><br />
highest safety accolade a car can receive. *European New Car Assessment Programme.
An enterta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g ride is a safe ride. At <strong>Peugeot</strong>, we don’t believe you should have to take risks<br />

Our eng<strong>in</strong>eers gave it a wide <strong>wheel</strong> track and redesigned electro-pump <strong>steer<strong>in</strong>g</strong>, along with McPherson front suspension<br />
and a steel rear axle with a deformable cross member. What does that mean on <strong>the</strong> road? Pick your favourite bends<br />
and put <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308 through its paces; you’ll f<strong>in</strong>d it strikes <strong>the</strong> perfect balance between solid stability and extreme<br />
agility, even at speed. Driv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> town? Then you’ll f<strong>in</strong>d its variable, electric power-assisted <strong>steer<strong>in</strong>g</strong> makes it easy to park<br />
and manoeuvre <strong>in</strong> heavy traffic. As you might expect, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308 is also equipped with a powerful, durable brak<strong>in</strong>g<br />
system designed for difficult situations. This <strong>in</strong>cludes:<br />
• Anti-lock brakes (ABS) to help you keep control <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>steer<strong>in</strong>g</strong> and prevent <strong>the</strong> car from skidd<strong>in</strong>g under heavy brak<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
• Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) which applies different amounts <strong>of</strong> brak<strong>in</strong>g force to <strong>in</strong>dividual <strong>wheel</strong>s to<br />
keep <strong>the</strong> car stable – especially if you need to brake around a corner.<br />
• Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) – hit <strong>the</strong> brakes hard <strong>in</strong> a hurry and <strong>the</strong> system will come to your aid, apply<strong>in</strong>g<br />
maximum brak<strong>in</strong>g power <strong>in</strong> milliseconds to br<strong>in</strong>g you to a halt quickly and safely.<br />
• Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) which is standard on <strong>the</strong> XT comprises all <strong>the</strong> above, plus:<br />
- Traction control (ASR) which activates <strong>the</strong> brak<strong>in</strong>g and eng<strong>in</strong>e management systems to prevent <strong>the</strong> <strong>wheel</strong>s from<br />
sp<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> slippery conditions.<br />
- Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) cont<strong>in</strong>uously monitors and compares data from <strong>the</strong> <strong>steer<strong>in</strong>g</strong> <strong>wheel</strong> sensor and<br />
<strong>the</strong> yaw sensor to detect any under or over steer, <strong>the</strong>n uses <strong>the</strong> brak<strong>in</strong>g and eng<strong>in</strong>e management systems to keep<br />
you on course.<br />

Your personal bodyguard. People come first with us. That’s why<br />
we’ve taken all <strong>the</strong> features you can’t see on <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308 as seriously as those<br />
you can. Beneath its elegant, dynamic l<strong>in</strong>es lies a passenger safety cell that’s been<br />
designed with three impact absorption structures to take as much <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> crash<br />
energy as possible if you’re <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> an accident.<br />
In <strong>the</strong> event <strong>of</strong> a head-on collision, you’re protected by <strong>the</strong> ma<strong>in</strong> impact structure, as well as a new lower structure fitted<br />
onto <strong>the</strong> front sub-frame, and extra re<strong>in</strong>forcements above <strong>the</strong> front <strong>wheel</strong> arches. So you and your passengers are effectively<br />
cocooned <strong>in</strong> a protective cell. A fur<strong>the</strong>r safeguard is provided by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308’s collapsible <strong>steer<strong>in</strong>g</strong> column and collapsible<br />
mount<strong>in</strong>gs, which retract to prevent <strong>the</strong> eng<strong>in</strong>e and gearbox be<strong>in</strong>g pushed back <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> cab<strong>in</strong>. We’ve also designed an active<br />
footrest*, which helps to prevent ankle <strong>in</strong>juries by absorb<strong>in</strong>g as much <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> shock as possible. The all-round protection<br />
cont<strong>in</strong>ues with re<strong>in</strong>forced side panels to take <strong>the</strong> brunt <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> force if you’re hit from that angle, plus an alum<strong>in</strong>ium alloy impact<br />
bar at <strong>the</strong> back to safeguard <strong>the</strong> cab<strong>in</strong> and petrol tank. If you do f<strong>in</strong>d yourself <strong>in</strong> a dangerous situation, it’s reassur<strong>in</strong>g to know<br />
that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Peugeot</strong> 308 is fully equipped with 3-po<strong>in</strong>t seat belts with force limiters, which complement <strong>the</strong> restra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g effect<br />
provided by <strong>the</strong> pretensioner <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt.<br />
