Foam Dressings
Absorbent polyurethane
foam.
Indications and
Tips
Foams absorb excess exudate from the
wound surface whilst maintaining a moist
healing environment.
Available as flat sheets with or without an
adhesive border.
The rationale for using foams is extending
wear time and comfort for the patient.
Frequent removal of the adhesive dressings
will cause damage to the surrounding skin.
If frequent dressing changes are required
consider using an absorbent dressing pad
instead.

adherent and are
removed without trauma
Cutimed Siltec is a foam dressing that has
a silicone wound contact layer. This
ensures that the dressing is removed with
minimal trauma.
Allevyn Gentle Border minimises pain and
trauma to the wound at dressing change
due to a silicone gel adhesive.
Both these dressings should be chosen for
patients with fragile skin
