Clause 4: Scaling and Database Population<br />

4.1 Initial Cardinality of Tables<br />

The cardinality (e.g., the number of rows) of each table of the test database, as it existed at the completion of the<br />

database load (see clause 4.2.5) must be disclosed.<br />

Table 4.1 lists the TPC Benchmark H defined tables and the row count for each table as they existed upon<br />

completion of the build.<br />

4.2 Distribution of Tables and Logs Across Media<br />

The distribution of tables and logs across all media must be explicitly described for the tested and priced systems.<br />

Microsoft SQL Server was configured on a HP ProLiant DL385 G7 with the following configuration:<br />

1 x HP Smart Array P410i Controller<br />

4 x 60GB SSD SFF SATA<br />

2 x 72GB Pluggable 6G SAS 2.5” 15k rpm drives<br />

1 x 300GB Pluggable 6G SAS 2.5” 10k rpm drives<br />

The 300GB disk was used to store flatfiles and backup.The remaining 6 disks were used to hold table data, indexes,<br />

database log and the temporary database (TempDB).<br />
