The ILA Cultural and Racial Diversity Committee’s popular
“Diversity in Libraries/Sylvia Murphy Williams Fundraiser”
program explores best practices for library services to English
as a Second Language Users over a mid-afternoon tea service.
Proceeds raised from this event will benefit the Sylvia Murphy
Williams Fund. This scholarship fund in memoriam of Williams,
a former ILA president, supports Illinois recipients of ALA
Spectrum Scholarships to ensure a bright and diverse future
for librarianship in our state.
