programme <strong>of</strong> <strong>events</strong> at <strong>Scariff</strong> <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Library</strong> from the 19th to the 22nd March inclusive.<br />
THINKING OF CAREERS (THE WORK SMART PROJECT)<br />

This 90 minute workshop is tailored to help Senior Cycle Students make educated career choices. Discussion<br />
covers CV building, interview preparation, personal and aptitudinal assessment, target-setting and advice<br />
on relevant work experience.<br />

SCARIFF LIBRARY’S TEENAGE BOOK CLUB<br />
<strong>Scariff</strong> <strong>Library</strong>’s Teenage Book Club takes place on Tuesday 19th March at 6pm. Come along and talk about<br />
your favourite books, play games and meet new people.<br />
MAKING AND PRODUCING MUSIC<br />

Ciaran’s two-hour workshop will give an overview <strong>of</strong> Music Creation and Production. You are guaranteed<br />
to find out anything you need to know, from tips on songwriting to making your pitch with recording<br />
companies. Participants at the workshop will have access to acoustic, electric and bass guitars, a drum<br />
machine and digitech console and much more, with the ultimate aim being to create their own track by the end<br />
<strong>of</strong> the session.<br />
THE IMPORTANCE OF TRADITIONAL BUILDINGS<br />
Risteard Ua Cróinín<br />
Architectural conservation <strong>of</strong>ficer with <strong>Clare</strong> <strong>County</strong> Council, Risteard Ua Cróinín is responsible <strong>for</strong> the built<br />
environment <strong>of</strong> the county. He is acutely aware that in post Celtic Tiger Ireland, more and more people<br />
are taking an interest in what really matters; families, local history, ancient buildings and the Gaelic<br />
language. He is once again editor <strong>of</strong> The Other <strong>Clare</strong>, our county’s archaeological journal. Risteard will<br />
discuss all <strong>of</strong> this and more with plenty <strong>of</strong> scope <strong>for</strong> questions and answers in his talks with teenagers.<br />
STEPHEN MURRAY’S POETRY SLAM<br />
Stephen Murray<br />
Stephen Murray was born in Ireland in 1974 and moved to London in 1975. As a teenager, he was twice a<br />
runner-up in the W.H. Smith Young Writer <strong>of</strong> the Year Awards. In 2005 he was crowned Cúirt Grand Slam<br />
Champion. He has per<strong>for</strong>med his work as guest reader at many <strong>of</strong> the world’s most famous poetry venues. He<br />
currently lives and writes in Galway where he works as director <strong>of</strong> Inspireland, teaching poetry and creative<br />
writing to young people across the country. House <strong>of</strong> Bees is his debut collection.<br />
