Henrik, Copenhagen Fashion Week is
about to take place from August
3rd-7th.
What are you looking forward to the
most? Which show is expected to be
auspicious?
I
always look forward to all of it, but if I have to choose, then
there‘s a lot of quite new and upcoming designers like Anne
Sofie Madsen, Dennis Lyngsø and Astrid Andersen that I
look forward to seeing. More established brands like Baum &
Pferdgarten, Soulland, Stine Goy and Henrik Vibskov are always
worth watching.
Any exciting side events?
There‘s tons of side events. About 150 to be more exact.
Copenhagen Fashion Festival are all about moving the
fashion week from the catwalk to the streets. All these
events are for everybody. Copenhagen Fashion Festival has its
own program where all the events are listed. You can find it here:
What about shopping? Are there any store
openings planned during Copenhagen
Fashion Week? Where do you currently
shop & drop the most?
Christian Louboutin has just opened a shop in Copenhagen
and a Lanvin shop is in the making, but I‘m not sure it‘ll
be open for the Fashion Week.
Worth mentioning that there‘s an exhibition with Peter Jensen
opening on Design Museum Denmark during the Fashion Week.
It‘s a fantastic museum and Peter‘s design ditto. I look forward to
that.
About shopping. I‘m so lucky that I have a Soulland shop just under
where I live, so a lot of shopping is done there. Norse Projects
on Pilestræde and Storm Fashion on Store Regnegade are places I
visit frequently.
Dennis Lyngsø

Do you have a favourite upcoming
designer?
I‘m looking forward to seeing what Dennis Lyngsø will
present. He‘s won a lot of prices and he‘s very talented. This
is his first collection.
Describe the style of Copenhagen…
What’s your most favourite place in
Copenhagen at the moment? Why so?
I
like the feel of the area of Gammel Kongevej / Værnedamsvej.
A lot of really old shops closed down when the crisis came
and now there‘s a lot of young people moving in opening new
shops. Good vibe.
Copenhagen’s best kept secret?
If I tell that it won’t be a secret anymore, but if you want a feel
of Copenhagen make sure you leave the city centre and visit
the areas of Vesterbro and Nørrebro. That‘s where you‘ll find
local action.
