When the College of Law was founded in 1909 only
38 students enrolled. Tuition, room and board totaled
$165 a year. Today, the Levin College of Law has a
total enrollment of 1,174 students and is among the
nation’s most comprehensive, highly regarded public
law schools as well as one of the best values available.
U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks UF in
the top tier of public and private law schools in the
nation. The Graduate Tax Program ranks No. 2 overall.

• The student body during the
2010-11 academic year was
comprised of 1,174 students,
with 1,044 of them J.D. students
from throughout the Southeast
and nation
• 20 students are earning joint
J.D./master’s or Ph.D. degrees
• 310 students in the 2010 fall
entering J.D. class divided into
three sections
• 130 students are enrolled in
LL.M. and S.J.D. programs
• The 10 students in UF Law’s LL.M.
in Comparative Law Program hail
from countries including South
Africa, China, Saudi Arabia, Brazil
and Argentina
• Of the combined 2010-11
student body, 24 percent were
minorities: 6 percent African-
American; 1 percent Native
Americans/Alaskans; 7 percent
Asian Americans; and 10 percent
