Several Indian design engineers were involved in the development of the
new single-drum compactor which features state-of-the-art screens and a
three-point articulated joint.
It goes without saying that the plant is equipped with state-of-the-art operating
equipment such as pillar jib cranes, lifting platforms and floor conveyors.
saves transport costs and customs duties,” explains Franislav
Cavar, Project Manager at Hamm in charge of machine engineering
and organizational setup in Pune. “We achieve a terrific
localization rate of 93 percent,” he adds, “which enables us to
score top marks also in the price-sensitive Indian market.”
NUMEROUS HALLMARKS OF HAMM
ROLLERS IMPRESS INDIAN CUSTOMERS
Wirtgen India’s sales team has been presenting the new machine
throughout the country since the beginning of 2011. “The first presentation
at bC India elicited exceptionally positive responses,” says
Ramesh Palagiri, Wirtgen India’s Managing Director. Following the
event, the machine toured the country to prove what it is capable
of: numerous demonstrations on construction sites were just as
convincing as the live demonstration at the opening ceremony in
August. A large number of single-drum compactors have meanwhile
been produced and delivered. But there’s even more: from the time
the 311 was added to the product range, Ramesh Palagiri says,
“customers have begun to order other Hamm rollers as well. This
goes to show that Hamm is a byword for quality also in India.”
