Kumeu christmas parade a hit
Kumeu Playcentre’s Noah’s Ark theme was very appropriate for the Kumeu
Christmas Parade this year. With heavy rain during the day the sun eventually
came out just in time for the parade – a double rainbow even filled the
sky! Prior to the parade, the children of Kumeu Playcentre painted sea creatures,
masks and the wooden planks of the boat. They also decided what
type of animal they would be (changing their minds a few times along the
way). The children transformed even more with the help of Emma Hordyk
who did some wonderful face painting. Thanks to Warren from McClure’s ITM
Building Centre for driving and providing the truck, we decorated it and headed to the Nobilo grounds for fish &
chips. Mum of Zack and Zoe, Angela Ball says, “We’re so glad the rain stopped for the parade. The kids loved
being part of it (and the lollies that were handed around too)!”.Kumeu Playcentre won second place for their entry
in the parade. Playcentre acknowledges and supports parents as the first and most important educators of their
children. Parents join their children playing and exploring in the water, painting, playdough, craft, building and
sandpit play, along with the various other activities that all Playcentre’s offer.
