Terms & Conditions The Company Refers to the Champneys Resort Club. 1. Objectives The objectives of the club are: a) to provide and make available to members of the club, and their bonafide guest, health and fitness facilities, and to promote and encourage a greater degree of physical well-being. While resident in the Club, guests are deemed to be Members of the Health Club and are referred to as such hereafter. b) to provide a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere throughout the Health Club. c) to provide and maintain the premises and employ staff in order to facilitate the attainment of the above objectives. 2. Election When an applicant for membership is elected a Member, and has paid the relevant subscription, he or she shall be a Member of the Club and entitled to all the privileges of Membership and shall be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules. Any application for membership or renewal of membership, shall be determined by the Health Club Committee whose decision shall be final and binding. Absolute discretion is granted to the Committee to reject any applicant for membership without submitting any reason for so doing; in this event any subscription monies received will be immediately returned. 3. Membership Cards An elected Member shall be given a membership card and must register and present valid membership card on entering the Club. Failure to do so could result in termination of membership. If on occasion the card is forgotten, the Member will be asked to complete a temporary Pass Card. If a Member should lose his/her Membership card, this loss should be reported to the Club immediately it is discovered and a replacement will be issued at a cost of £5.00. 4. “Signing in” and Guests Each member may bring up to TWO guests per visit by prior arrangement with the Club Administrator or Fitness Department. A guest fee of £15.00pp is payable for standard membership guests and a £30.00pp is payable for premier membership guests. All members' guests must sign in / sign out at the resorts Fitness Reception on arrival/departure and any member failing to register a guest in the correct manner will have their membership terminated immediately. Members may not leave the Club before their guests and are responsible for their good conduct and safety whilst on the Club premises. No member should introduce a Guest who has been rejected as a Member or has had his/her membership revoked. All guests must be accompanied by a Member on entering the Club and register at Reception before entering the changing facilities. 5. Children Children under the age of eighteen years may not become a Member or accompany Members as guests. 6. Admissions and Conduct The Company reserves the right of admission to the Club and may expel any Member (or guest) who’s conduct is such as shall in its opinion be injurious to the character of the Club or the interest of its Members. The Company in its absolute discretion and without ascribing any reasons therefore may terminate the Membership of any member refunding that unexpired portion of their current subscription. In the event of a serious or repeated breach of the Club rules no refund will be made. The Company may refuse to renew the membership of any member without giving any reason thereafter. Swimming pool and surrounding area: To ensure that the swimming pool and surrounding area are kept peaceful and quiet, there shall be no jumping, diving, or splashing in the pool. 7. Liability The Company shall not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage to property whatsoever or howsoever caused. The Company shall not be responsible or liable for any personal injury death or illness of any member or guest arising out of or sustained as a result of the misuse of any equipment/and or facilities of the Club. Members are advised to undergo a medical examination prior to joining the Club. The Company will not be responsible for the death, injury and/or mental impairment of any Members/Guests caused and/or aggravated by any prior injury or illness of the nominee whether known or unknown through the use of facilities. 8. Saftey and Hygiene For reasons of hygiene and safety of all, Members and their Guests shall: a) Not drink alcohol before exercising b) Receive instruction on use of the Gymnasium equipment (Members may supervise their guests) c) Shower before and after using the swimming pool, spa pool, Sauna, Laconium and Steam Room d) Consume food and drink only in the cafe areas and restaurant e) Not dry their clothing or towels in the sauna f) Not use hair conditioner in the swimming pool or membership will be terminated immediately. g) Eye Protection must be worn whilst using the sun towers h) No smoking in any area of the resort apart from the designated smoking area. i) Not allow children under 18 to use any of the facilities j) Please take all personal belongings from lockers when leaving the Club. k) Those with diabetes, heart problems, high/low blood pressure or who are on strong prescriptions or have any form of indication of a medical condition, should consult their Doctor before exercising and using the Spa Pool, Sauna and Steam Room and participating in activities in the gym and on the fitness schedule. 9. Pool Bar Sports bags must not be taken into this area. Smart casual wear only permitted in these areas. 10. Dress Correct exercise attire must be worn at all times whilst exercising. If outdoor shoes must be worn around the swimming pool area please wear the protective shoe covers which are provided. No black soled shoes are permitted in the studios. Correct tennis attire and shoes shall be worn on the tennis court. 11. Opening Hours Standard Membership Monday - Friday 6.30am - 10.00am 6.00pm - 10.00pm Saturday & Sunday 6.30am - 9.30am 5.30pm - 9.30pm Standard Plus Membership Monday - Friday 6.30am - 10.00am 6.00pm - 10.00pm Saturday & Sunday 6.30am - 9.30pm Premier Membership Monday - Friday 6.30am - 10.00pm Saturday & Sunday 6.30am - 9.30pm The Company reserves the right to vary these times without prior notice. Members must have left the premises by the Club hours stated. The Company also reserves the right to amend/alter any class agreement as they wish. Individual Treatment and Therapy: Due to popular demand, appointments need to be made 2 weeks in advance. Pre-booked treatments require 24 hour cancellation notice otherwise full tariff rate will be charged. 12. Cancellation and Suspension of membership Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable. All requests and cancellations pertaining to Membership should be put in writing and addressed to the Club Accounts Administrator where all cases will be considered at managements discretion. The subscription for classes of Membership shall be such the sum as The Company may from time to time determine. 13. Club Account Members may charge any purchases within the resort to their Club Account. A statement of your account will be sent out each month and payment is due by return. Alternatively, resort purchases may be settled with cash or credit/debit card as and when they are made. Members will also be responsible for all payments relating to their guests. The company reserves the right to alter membership fees,giving the members no less than 30 days notice prior to such increase. 14. Notice The company at its discretion may vary these rules from time to time and members will be informed accordingly. 15. Disputes In the event of any dispute arising out of the interpretation of these rules the decision of the Company shall be final. 16. Discount Members will receive a 20% discount on any day or stay at Champneys Springs - Leicestershire, Champneys Henlow - Bedfordshire, Champneys Forest Mere - Hampshire or Champneys Tring - Hertfordshire. Members will also receive a 10% discount on any treatments at the Resort Club they have joined. These discounts can only be applied to full tariff rate.
