Terms & ConditionsThe CompanyRefers to the <strong>Champneys</strong> Resort <strong>Club</strong>.1. ObjectivesThe objectives of the club are:a) to provide and make available to members of the club, and their bonafide guest,health and fitness facilities, and to promote and encourage a greater degree ofphysical well-being. While resident in the <strong>Club</strong>, guests are deemed to be Membersof the <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Club</strong> and are referred to as such hereafter.b) to provide a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere throughout the <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Club</strong>.c) to provide and maintain the premises and employ staff in order to facilitate theattainment of the above objectives.2. ElectionWhen an applicant for membership is elected a Member, and has paid the relevantsubscription, he or she shall be a Member of the <strong>Club</strong> and entitled to all the privilegesof <strong>Membership</strong> and shall be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules. Anyapplication for membership or renewal of membership, shall be determined by the<strong>Health</strong> <strong>Club</strong> Committee whose decision shall be final and binding. Absolute discretionis granted to the Committee to reject any applicant for membership without submittingany reason for so doing; in this event any subscription monies received will beimmediately returned.3. <strong>Membership</strong> CardsAn elected Member shall be given a membership card and must register and presentvalid membership card on entering the <strong>Club</strong>. Failure to do so could result intermination of membership. If on occasion the card is forgotten, the Member will beasked to complete a temporary Pass Card. If a Member should lose his/her<strong>Membership</strong> card, this loss should be reported to the <strong>Club</strong> immediately it isdiscovered and a replacement will be issued at a cost of £5.00.4. “Signing in” and GuestsEach member may bring up to TWO guests per visit by prior arrangement with the<strong>Club</strong> Administrator or Fitness Department. A guest fee of £15.00pp is payable forstandard membership guests and a £30.00pp is payable for premier membershipguests. All members' guests must sign in / sign out at the resorts Fitness Receptionon arrival/departure and any member failing to register a guest in the correct mannerwill have their membership terminated immediately.Members may not leave the <strong>Club</strong> before their guests and are responsible for theirgood conduct and safety whilst on the <strong>Club</strong> premises. No member should introduce aGuest who has been rejected as a Member or has had his/her membership revoked.All guests must be accompanied by a Member on entering the <strong>Club</strong> and register atReception before entering the changing facilities.5. ChildrenChildren under the age of eighteen years may not become a Member or accompanyMembers as guests.6. Admissions and ConductThe Company reserves the right of admission to the <strong>Club</strong> and may expel any Member(or guest) who’s conduct is such as shall in its opinion be injurious to the character ofthe <strong>Club</strong> or the interest of its Members.The Company in its absolute discretion and without ascribing any reasons thereforemay terminate the <strong>Membership</strong> of any member refunding that unexpired portion oftheir current subscription. In the event of a serious or repeated breach of the <strong>Club</strong>rules no refund will be made.The Company may refuse to renew the membership of any member without givingany reason thereafter.Swimming pool and surrounding area: To ensure that the swimming pool andsurrounding area are kept peaceful and quiet, there shall be no jumping, diving, orsplashing in the pool.7. LiabilityThe Company shall not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage to propertywhatsoever or howsoever caused. The Company shall not be responsible or liable forany personal injury death or illness of any member or guest arising out of or sustainedas a result of the misuse of any equipment/and or facilities of the <strong>Club</strong>. Members areadvised to undergo a medical examination prior to joining the <strong>Club</strong>. The Company willnot be responsible for the death, injury and/or mental impairment of anyMembers/Guests caused and/or aggravated by any prior injury or illness of thenominee whether known or unknown through the use of facilities.8. Saftey and HygieneFor reasons of hygiene and safety of all, Members and their Guests shall:a) Not drink alcohol before exercisingb) Receive instruction on use of the Gymnasium equipment (Members maysupervise their guests)c) Shower before and after using the swimming pool, spa pool, Sauna, Laconiumand Steam Roomd) Consume food and drink only in the cafe area and restaurantse) Not dry their clothing or towels in the saunaf) Not use hair conditioner in the swimming pool or membership will be terminatedimmediately.g) Eye Protection must be worn whilst using the sun towersh) No smoking in any area of the resort apart from the designated smoking area.i) Not allow children under 18 to use any of the facilitiesj) Please take all personal belongings from lockers when leaving the <strong>Club</strong>.k) Those with diabetes, heart problems, high/low blood pressure or who are onstrong prescriptions or have any form of indication of a medical condition, shouldconsult their Doctor before exercising and using the Spa Pool, Sauna and SteamRoom and participating in activities in the gym and on the fitness schedule.9. Spa CaféSports bags must not be taken into this area. Smart casual wear only permitted inthese areas.10. DressCorrect exercise attire must be worn at all times whilst exercising.If outdoor shoes must be worn around the swimming pool area please wear theprotective shoe covers which are provided. No black soled shoes are permitted in thestudios. Correct tennis attire and shoes shall be worn on the tennis court.11. Opening HoursStandard <strong>Membership</strong>Monday – Friday 6.30am – 10.00am 6.00pm – 10.00pmSaturday & Sunday 6.30am – 9.30am 5.30pm – 9.30pmStandard Plus <strong>Membership</strong>Monday – Friday 6.30am – 10.00am 6.00pm – 10.00pmSaturday & Sunday6.30am – 9.30 pmPremier <strong>Membership</strong>Monday – Friday6.30am – 10.00pmSaturday & Sunday6.30am – 9.30pmThe Company reserves the right to vary these times without prior notice. Membersmust have left the premises by the <strong>Club</strong> hours stated.The Company also reserves the right to amend/alter any class agreement as theywish.Individual Treatment and Therapy:Due to popular demand, appointments need to be made 2 weeks in advance. Prebookedtreatments require 24 hour cancellation notice otherwise full tariff rate will becharged.12. Cancellation and Suspension of membership<strong>Membership</strong> is non-transferable and non-refundable. All requests and cancellationspertaining to <strong>Membership</strong> should be put in writing and addressed to the <strong>Club</strong>Accounts Administrator where all cases will be considered at managementsdiscretion. The subscription for classes of <strong>Membership</strong> shall be such the sum as TheCompany may from time to time determine.13. <strong>Club</strong> AccountMembers may charge any purchases within the resort to their <strong>Club</strong> Account.A statement of your account will be sent out each month and payment is due byreturn. Alternatively, resort purchases may be settled with cash or credit/debit card asand when they are made. Members will also be responsible for all payments relating totheir guests. The company reserves the right to alter membership fees,giving themembers no less than 30 days notice prior to such increase.14. NoticeThe company at its discretion may vary these rules from time to time and memberswill be informed accordingly.15. DisputesIn the event of any dispute arising out of the interpretation of these rules the decisionof the Company shall be final.16. DiscountMembers will receive a 20% discount on any day or stay at <strong>Champneys</strong> <strong>Springs</strong> -Leicestershire, <strong>Champneys</strong> Henlow - Bedfordshire, <strong>Champneys</strong> Forest Mere -Hampshire or <strong>Champneys</strong> Tring - Hertfordshire. Members will also receive a 10%discount on any treatments at the Resort <strong>Club</strong> they have joined. These discounts canonly be applied to full tariff rate.
