Winter Survival
Workshop Description
This workshop shows you how
to prepare mentally and physically if
you become stranded in a life threatening
winter storm. You learn what
attitude and equipment are needed
to survive the cold. You also will find
out how to recognize symptoms of
hypothermia and how to treat them.

Who Should Attend?
Anyone who is exposed to Nevada’s
severe winter weather, especially
snowplow operators and other
transportation workers who are at risk
of becoming trapped in bad weather
or who may need to offer emergency
treatment to stranded motorists.
Instructor
The instructor will be Steve Jenkins.
He is the Director of the Technology Transfer
Center in Montana. Steve’s interest in survival
started many years ago and has evolved
into well practiced and developed methods of
survival. He will teach you things that anyone
can do to insure safety in their jobs,
home and recreation. Steve has been required
to use and perfect his winter survival
skills and has had to spend several cold winter
nights stranded in his automobile.
