& Economics<br />

Learn how to sell and market residential PV systems, and to<br />

demonstrate to the customer that solar energy is a remarkably<br />

sound investment.<br />

PV205: <strong>Solar</strong> Water Pumping<br />

This two-day hands-on workshop covers pumping technologies,<br />

PV modules, system sizing, and component selection. Includes<br />

pump descriptions and comparisons with information on trackers,<br />

linear current boosters, and other associated equipment. The<br />

workshop will include laboratory exercises and a system tour.<br />

Learn secrets for setting up a solid and effective sales team, then<br />

generating cost effective leads for and with them. The strategic<br />

insights you'll glean from this course will save and/or earn you<br />

thousands in avoided mistakes and increased sales. This rigorous<br />

interactive workshop is designed to help you make the most<br />

accurate and compelling financial case possible for the value of PV<br />

systems. The class is focused on residential systems in CA, NJ, CT, HI,<br />

NC, and other states with attractive economics (adjusted for<br />

location).<br />

Topics include:<br />

• Understanding basic marketing and the solar market segments<br />

• Promotion strategies, lead generation, & marketing tools<br />

• Setting up and running sales organizations<br />

• Staffing, asset control, termination & legal issues<br />

• Working the sales funnel from lead screening to presenting and<br />

closing<br />

• Costs & sales commission rates<br />

• Connecting with customers<br />

• Analyzing, calculating, and explaining “payback” on solar systems<br />

• Analysis of and maximizing benefit from the important variables<br />

such as system performance, incentives, and utility tariffs<br />

• Overview of tools available for financial analysis<br />

• Interactive use of the OnGrid Tool for examples<br />

All participants will receive a demo copy of<br />

the OnGrid Tool (license agreement required).<br />
