Twin Lakes Family YMCA Spring 2011 Steiner Ranch Volleyball & Basketball General Information Sheet (512-250-9622) Dates to Remember: Family Member Registration: January 2 nd – February 4 th Community Registration: January 14 th – February 4 th The Last Day to Register is February 4 th . Registration accepted after February 4 th will be charged a $25 late fee. No games on April 7 th (Easter) First week of practice – March 19 th First Game – March 31 st Last Game – May 25 th Coaches Meeting for Volleyball and Basketball: Tuesday, February 28 th at 6:30pm at Canyon Ridge Middle School Cafeteria Coaches Certification: March 17 th : 9am – 12pm in the Twin Lakes Family YMCA Gymnasium Your child’s coach should contact you no later than March 12 th . Requests: An attempt to honor requests will be made; but requests (coach, players, or practice nights) are not guaranteed. Placement of players is final. The deadline to withdraw from league play is the Friday before the first game. Players may move up only one division, but may not move down a division. If there is a day that absolutely cannot play please write it down the registration form If you register after the deadline, your request potentially will not be honored. Withdrawal/refunds: Please inform the Youth Sports office (615-7407) if you are withdrawing your child from a sport for any reason. This includes free sports. The option to receive a refund or credit (minus $10 service charge) is at the discretion of the Sports director. Uniforms are non-refundable Financial Assistance: Financial Assistance is available. Applications must be received by January 29 th . Practice and Games: Practice times are decided by the coach. Practices will consist of one practice a week for an hour. The season will consist of 8 games. Game times vary. Football players are required to wear mouth pieces. You are allowed to change requests or transfer teams up to one week after registration deadline. Any time after, there will be a team transfer fee of $25. Changes are only allowed if spots are available. Pictures: Picture day will be April 28 th or May 5 th . Teams will be scheduled. Coaching: Head Coaches and Co-Head Coaches must fill out a volunteer application and provide a copy of your driver’s license. Coaches must complete a volunteer application every 12 months. YMCA Philosophy: The YMCA is an instructional league, not competitive. The main focus is placed on the children’s skill development and on sportsmanship; therefore, the score will only be kept in older age groups. We build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.
