<strong>of</strong> truth are superior to the demands <strong>of</strong> liberty. Nor does it<br />

infringe upon the rights <strong>of</strong> Justice, because the rights <strong>of</strong> Justice<br />

are superior to the claims <strong>of</strong> mere numbers or force. Neither does<br />

it impugn the rights <strong>of</strong> God, because they are superior to the<br />

rights <strong>of</strong> man." 1<br />

It is contrary to the order and finality <strong>of</strong> the world to abandon<br />

the struggle for the return <strong>of</strong> States to Christ the King. To aid<br />

in that return, by showing the ultimate practical consequences<br />

<strong>of</strong> the fatal step taken at the French Revolution and which has<br />

since been more or less accepted, to the exclusion <strong>of</strong> any higher<br />

ideal, is the object <strong>of</strong> this book. "I am Alpha and Omega, the<br />

beginning and the end, saith the Lord God" (Apoc. i, 8).<br />
