GENERAL NOTICES Bring Your Cartridges From Home … Riverside Christian College is a member of the 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program. To help you make your home a little greener, you are invited to bring the cartridges you use at home and drop them into our collection box. The boxes are located at the two main entrances to the college outside the Year 1 Room and outside the Administration (Boxes will be placed outside each Friday). Important Note: Please keep all packaging out of the cartridge collection box. This program collects and returns inkjet, toner cartridges, toner bottles and other consumables from printers, fax machines and photocopiers for reprocessing and recycling. If the box is full please notify Mrs Stevenson in Year One or Mrs Hickey at the front reception. Some of the cartridges are returne d to the original producers to be remanufactured while the remainder will be dismantled and used to make products as varied as pens, rulers, outdoor furniture and white goods. Accounts Statements have been sent home with the oldest child in the family. All fees will be divided into Four Term Accounts. They will be due for payment by the middle of the Term, unless you arrange to make a regular payment pla n, which means paying a fortnightly or monthly payment. This is often the best option. If you wish to start making payments immediately, see your Fees Schedule for Bank and other payment details. Buses The bus runs are up and running with approximately 200 students catching buses each day to and from the College. Our bus drivers are doing a wonderful job of re‐arranging their routes every day at the moment, as we put more children on their runs. Most buses are already full, so please consider carefully whether you will be requiring bus services. Students who use the bus every morning and afternoon will be given priority. If there are any changes to your routine please contact the College office during the day or phone/ message your driver directly on their mobile phone. Bus fares will be added to accounts in the first week of March for Jan/Feb travel. Uniform Shop Families are reminded that for all College supplied uniforms, contact must be made with Uniform Coordinator Mrs Linda Storrs on 0429 787 982. Mrs Storrs will a rrange with you a suitable time to supply/fit uniforms and organise payment. She continues, to the best of her ability, to accommodate the time constraints of parents. Vaccinations School based Vaccinations will take place on Monday 22nd February and Monday 13th September for Year 8’s only. Year 10 Vaccinations will occur on Monday 10th May. Forms should have been received by now. If your child did not bring a form home, please contact the office. School Photos College Photo Day – Tuesday 16 th March Full formal uniform must be worn on this day. Students that borrow ice packs from our sick bay need to return them by the end of the day. Please remember to do this ... Thank you. When visiting the College All visitors to the College are required by Workplace Health & Safety to come to Reception to sign in, and out when they leave. This procedure is to assist during any emergencies so that all personnel on the College campus can be accounted for during lockdown or fire drills. If you are helping with some reading or assisting the classroom teacher, please sign in first. Don’t forget to familia rise yourself with the fire drill procedures found in every building on the Campus. Safety comes first. BOOK CLUB A Koorong Kids catalogue will be enclosed with this edition and further copies are available from the Administration Office. Please bring your order form and money to the College by Friday 26th February, 2010! Opps! Last edition front cover—should have read: Joseph Dodd and Brady Jackson. News from the CHAPLAIN Star Qualities Our very first Chapel Service to honour God and our new College leaders was a very exciting event on Friday 5th February. Many parents were able to be in attendance and staff also attended with teachers dressed in their academic gowns. The atmosphere was very reverent and yet celebratory. Students were voted in by their peers for sporting and class leadership roles. YOUTH GROUP ACTIVITIES Hey Kids …. Looking for something to do on Friday nights???
