A sow (mother pig) has 9 - 14 piglets at one time,<br />

and has two litters of piglets each year.<br />

<strong>Pig</strong>s gestate (are pregnant) for 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days.<br />

Cows gestate for about 9 months and 2 weeks. Horses gestate for<br />

almost 1 year. People gestate for a little over 9 months.<br />

<strong>Pig</strong>s like to keep themselves and their pens clean.<br />

<strong>Pig</strong>s don't sweat. Their sweat glands don't work.<br />

Hog farmers reduce, reuse and recycle by using pig<br />

manure to fertilize farmland.<br />

The average Canadian uses 343 litres of water in their home<br />

and garden each day, compared to 7 litres for the average pig.<br />
