Operation of the booking/delivery system and negotiating freight rate for its customers.
Assistance with and maintenance of producer-packer supply agreements, development and
implementation of marketing strategy, management of U.S. sales and shipments and management of
the forward pricing program.
Disperses payment to its producers, transporters and assemblers and maintains detailed settlement
records for its producers.
Responds to producer queries to ensure accurate settlement, and
Credit oversight for hog payment.

Communications:
Responsible for public, media and producer relations.
Ensures public, industry stakeholders and producers are informed of industry initiatives and
developments through media releases, the Ontario Pork website, industry brochures, extension
activities, and information bulletins.
Covers a wide range of issues, including animal care, environment, safety net programs, grant
administration and research funding programs, food safety and agricultural education.
Consumer Marketing:
Includes advertising, promotion and education programs designed to maintain and grow pork’s
popularity in the provincial and national marketplace.
Provides technical support and information to processors, retailers, health professionals, food editors,
reporters, restaurant operators and many other food service professionals.
Industry and Member services
Works closely with other provincial pork organizations, government and industry groups to develop
programs that will benefit the pork industry provincially, nationally and internationally.

Assists in the promotion and education of projects and services, and provides an essential link between
Ontario Pork and its producers and stakeholders.
Activities include administration of the Canadian Quality Assurance ® (CQA ® ), national traceability,
swine identification program and Ontario Pork Grading Authority (OPGA).
Maintains the provincial, regional and county representation system, and represents producers at the
local, provincial and national levels on issues relating to hog production.
Finance and Administration

Responsible for auditing, general operational financing including banking, accounts receivable/payable,
taxation and payroll, and collecting and recording service fee contributions from producers.
Oversees administration issues such as regulatory enforcement.
