Public lecture series<br />

This year the <strong>Academy</strong> commenced a new<br />

public lecture series titled Australia’s renewable<br />

energy future. The series examines a range <strong>of</strong><br />

renewable energy technologies that are currently<br />

being developed, and aims to provide a realistic<br />

assessment <strong>of</strong> their ability to supply Australia’s<br />

energy needs into the future. Each lecture<br />

focuses on a different renewable energy source<br />

providing an explanation <strong>of</strong> the technology and<br />

its implementation and a discussion <strong>of</strong> its current<br />

utilisation. The lectures in the series so far have been:<br />
