Social networks and
support groups
The organisations included in this chapter offer social support to
people who are experiencing mental health issues. They provide
networks of support, where people can share their knowledge and
experiences of mental health and they also offer activities that can
help people boost their confidence and reduce feelings of isolation.
AIM Artists in Mind
AIM helps people with mental and emotional health issues through
the use of the arts. AIM bases its work on the benefits of art in
improving people’s mental health and their understanding of
themselves and the world. The project aims to build people’s self
esteem, confidence and quality of life.

Armed Forces support project
– Kirklees Citizens Advice Bureau
This project works with other support providers in Kirklees to raise
awareness of the information and advice needs of ex-armed forces
personnel. This includes working with CAB itself to improve the
service they offer to this group.
