Mick Hudson<br />

The Rector was invited to preach at <strong>the</strong> funeral Mass for Mick<br />

Hudson. in St Patricks Church , Wicklow, on November 3rd. A heartfelt<br />

tribute was paid to him by Richard Woodroofe, son of a lifelong friend.<br />

Sympathy and prayers are with all <strong>the</strong> family and especially with Mick’s<br />

wife, Betty.<br />

Audrey Bayley<br />

The funeral of Audrey Bayley was held in Castlemacadam Church on<br />

November 13th. The funeral service was conducted by Canon George<br />

Butler. The huge congregation heard <strong>the</strong> moving tribute to <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

Mo<strong>the</strong>r by members of Audrey’s family. Once again we express our<br />

sympathy and support to all <strong>the</strong> family members and especially to her<br />

son, David.<br />

Services at All Saints’-tide<br />

On Sunday, 30th October <strong>the</strong> morning Service was a Celebration of<br />

Holy Communion for All Saints in Wicklow Parish Church. That same<br />

evening, a Memorial Service In Nuns Cross was attended by 50 people<br />

who prayed toge<strong>the</strong>r and, using candles, brought <strong>the</strong>ir memories of<br />

loved ones to God in thanksgiving and for healing. This Service marked<br />

a new departure for some people and those present found it helpful<br />

and encouraging. We are grateful to Ken for arranging it.<br />

Youth Club<br />

The Youth Club has begun with a bang! The young people show great<br />

enthusiasm and have asked if <strong>the</strong>y can meet more often! At present<br />

<strong>the</strong>y are meeting on 2nd and 4th Fridays at 730pm in ei<strong>the</strong>r East<br />

Glendalough School or Rathmore Holiday Village. Congratulations to<br />

<strong>the</strong> leaders – Iain Fisher, David Lang, Belinda Cullen and Jean Flynn.<br />

Girls Brigade<br />

The Girls’ Brigade Enrolment will be held on Sunday 11th December<br />

at <strong>the</strong> 10am Service in Wicklow. The GB company has over 70 members.<br />

Children’s Choir<br />

The Children’s Choir met for <strong>the</strong> first time in Nuns Cross Church<br />

on Sunday 13th November and over 30 children attended. We look<br />

forward to hearing <strong>the</strong>m sing at <strong>the</strong> Morning Service on 11th<br />

December at 1130am. The Choir meet every week at 630pm in <strong>the</strong><br />

Church for 45 minutes under <strong>the</strong> leadership of Felisity Cullen-Molloy<br />

and Neville Cox. New members always welcome.<br />

Killiskey Parish Sale<br />

At <strong>the</strong> time of writing this should already have taken place. If you<br />

missed <strong>the</strong> amazing bargains, you still may have a chance of catching up<br />

at <strong>the</strong> Christmas Shop at “<strong>the</strong> Hub” – see below.<br />

“The Hub”<br />

Killiskey Parish has taken out a lease on a shopfront building in<br />

Ashford Village (on <strong>the</strong> road out to Nuns Cross). This is to act as a<br />

Parish Office, a Meeting Room and ,we hope, a Shop - for Traidcraft,<br />

Scripture Union Books, and who knows what else? We have christened<br />

this exciting project “<strong>the</strong> Hub” as we hope it willl be a place <strong>around</strong><br />

which o<strong>the</strong>r activies can happen, and through which we can reach out<br />

to <strong>the</strong> Community.<br />

Mo<strong>the</strong>rs’ Union Meetings<br />

We thank <strong>the</strong> Rev. William Black and <strong>the</strong> Rev. Garth Bunting for<br />

coming down to speak to members of <strong>the</strong> Mo<strong>the</strong>rs’ Union. The AGM<br />

will be held on Thursday, 26th January 2012.<br />

Unity Gospel Choir<br />

The Unity Gospel Choir will be presenting a Concert at 8pm on<br />

Friday, 9th December in Wicklow Parish Church.<br />

Collections over Christmas time<br />

At Christmas <strong>the</strong> Collections are given to St. Vincent De Paul and<br />

Protestant Aid and all “loose money” will be donated to <strong>the</strong>se<br />

important charities working here in Ireland. Please note that, as before,<br />

<strong>the</strong> money given in Parish Stewardship Envelopes will go to <strong>the</strong> work<br />

of <strong>the</strong> Parishes, so if you wish to donate to <strong>the</strong> Parishes over Christmas<br />

please do so in this way or through cheques etc.<br />
