Sixth Grade Summer Reading Assignment
All incoming sixth graders will be required to read TWO books.
Part 1: All incoming 6 th graders must read Dar and the
Spear Thrower by Marjorie Crowley and complete the fiction book
form. This is the pink form. Be prepared to discuss the novel,
complete an activity, and take a quiz on Dar and the Spear
Thrower.
Students can get a copy of Dar and the Spear-Thrower in the following places:Sign out at
Draper MS Main Office, Barnes & Noble in Mohawk Commons, Amazon.com
Part 2: Choose another fiction or nonfiction novel to read and
complete the corresponding book form for the book. If you choose
to read a nonfiction book, you must complete the gold form. If you
choose to read a fiction book, you must complete the blue form.
Note: If you print these from the District’s website, they will print
in black and white. Please find that we have labeled each form
with its appropriate color.
All assignments will be due to your ELA teacher on Friday,
September 13, 2013.
