INGHAM SCOUT GROUP EXPLORE THEIR TOWN<br />

Ingham Cub <strong>Scout</strong>s and Joey <strong>Scout</strong>s recently undertook a "Know<br />

your town" hike to learn more about the Town. Cub <strong>Scout</strong>s were<br />

undertaking some of the requirements for Task 14 Your Community<br />

and the Joey <strong>Scout</strong>s found out more about the Town.<br />

The local library was a great place to learn the informaon we<br />

needed. We also had fun ringing our mums learning how to use a<br />

payphone. Ingham Joey <strong>Scout</strong>s and Cub <strong>Scout</strong>s along with<br />

Bagheera "Grace Pennisi‐Maynard and "Kowari" Dianne Jensen are<br />

pictured in front of the new cultural centre which houses the Art<br />

Gallery and our New Library. We all had a great me and learnt a<br />

bit more about our Town.<br />

ENVIRONMENT DAY FOR SCOUTING IN CENTRAL AND COASTAL REGION<br />

Going Green! Is the message out there whether it be in scoung, the educaon system, on farms,<br />

in industry, or in every household, everyone needs to be aware of the environment.<br />

Mrs. Joann Brzozowski, the Leader in charge of Environmental Acvies for Scoung in the Central<br />

and Coastal Region held an environment day at the Banksia <strong>Scout</strong> Den, Fernleigh Avenue, Andergrove<br />

on Saturday 3 rd September.<br />

The day began with and games reinforcing the need to<br />

recycle. The Cub <strong>Scout</strong>s and Joey <strong>Scout</strong>s hiked to Morag<br />

McNichol Reserve and picked up rubbish as well as observing<br />

the environment and vegetaon.<br />

They returned to the den aer lunch to more<br />

games, an interacve river story on polluon,<br />

and an acvity where they decorated biscuits<br />

as swamp rats which they happily devoured<br />

for aernoon tea.<br />

The youth member enjoyed the day of acvies. Mrs Brzozowski thanked the leaders,<br />

the Venturer <strong>Scout</strong>s and a Rover who helped run the acvies on the day.<br />
