Jaycees lend a hand to help<br />

Area Jayceea are planning a<br />

bowling fund-raiser to help 8year-old<br />

Stephanie Amber<br />

Smith, a Belleville girl suffering<br />

from a rare auto immune<br />

disorder that is attacking her<br />

bones and joints.<br />

Jaycees from Westland,<br />

Livonia, Redford, Garden<br />

City, Plymouth and <strong>Canton</strong><br />

will help to raise part of the<br />

$500,000 that Stephanie's<br />

family needs for a stem cell or<br />

bone marrow transplant,<br />

Westland Jaycees treasurer<br />

Mark Schutze said.<br />

Doctors believe the treatments<br />

will stop her disease.<br />

However, the treatments are<br />

considered experimental and<br />

aren't covered by insurance.<br />

To help Stephanie, Region<br />

H Jaycees will sponsor a bowl-<br />

FUND-RAISER<br />

ing fund-raiser at 7 p.m. Nov.<br />

24 at Town & Country Lanes,<br />

1100 S. Wayne Road near<br />

Palmer, in Westland.<br />

Registration will begin at<br />

6:30 p.m. Nov. 24; entry fee is<br />

$10.<br />

However, the entry fee will<br />

be reduced to $5 for participants<br />

who bring in at least<br />

$25 in donations.<br />

The fund-raiser will include<br />

three games of bowling, a<br />

50/50 ticket, first and second<br />

high games, king/queen of the<br />

hill, and high series.<br />
