For centuries, skilled artists have been
carving and painting St. Nicholas figures
in small Russian villages. After all, wood
was plentiful, the craft was passed down
from generation to generation, and other
jobs were scarce. Times are changing,
though, and each year it is harder and
harder to find examples of this wonderful
folk art. Our superb St. Nicholas is carved
from one piece of wood, measuring as
astonishing 27" circumference, and he is
painted with infinite care and skill, with a
scene of cheerful faced children decorating
the holiday tree on both front and back.

Each is a hand-sculpted and painted paper mache
figure of St. Nicholas in traditional 19th century
garb, carrying a basket of toys at his back and a
small holiday tree, and presented in a heavy card
paper gift box with paper lithographed designs of
St. Nicholas on the cover. You'll want to display the
box as well, too. 5 ½" St. Nicholas. 7" x 5" box.
