UNIFORM
When did you last read the School’s full uniform requirements? Are you clear on the rules about hair, jewellery, makeup, bags
and sport shoes? Have you read the addendum in the Student Diary about particular Senior School requirements? Are you up
to date with changes?
HAIR - Students’ hair should be clean and well groomed, with a conservative cut and style. Extreme hair styles are not
acceptable. For girls shoulder length hair must be tied back with approved accessories, as stated in the uniform lists. Hair
colour must be the student’s natural colour.
To avoid misunderstandings or embarrassment for boys, this means that a hairstyle is NOT permitted if it is:
• “stepped" (has clearly defined shaved sections)
• coloured
• of a length which extends past the collar
• has "pony" or "rat" tail
• is shorter than a "No. 2"
• so wild and untidy as to invite comment
JEWELLERY - Girls’ earrings MUST be one set of plain gold or silver studs or sleepers (hoops are to be no
larger than 1.5cm in
diameter, face of earring no larger than 0.5cm in diameter) worn with ONE in each earlobe only. No other jewellery allowed.
Boys ARE NOT permitted to wear ANY type of earring or other jewellery.
MAKEUP & NAILS - Students ARE NOT permitted to wear makeup, nail polish or acrylic nails.
SCHOOL BAGS - In the Senior School, with the issue of the laptops, a new specialised charcoal grey backpack with
protective rainshield and laptop pocket was authorised. Alternately, students may continue the older style blue school bag in
conjunction with a protective laptop case approved by the School’s IT Department.
On excursions, sporting events and out of school activities, the lightweight School Sports bag may be used instead of the
larger blue schoolbag or the grey backpack. However, no other bags are approved for use.
SPORTS SHOES MUST be a supportive type and MAINLY WHITE.

Students MUST NOT have TATTOOS or FACIAL PIERCINGS
Female students MUST ensure that skirt hemlines touch the floor when kneeling
Male students MUST be clean shaven
These are examples of supportive, MAINLY WHITE, sports shoes
APPROPRIATE for a range of sports activities at school sport and PE

use at school sport or PE
