Sports Leaders
This year we have used Sports Leaders in all years in
many varied activities. Hannah Richards and Hannah
Pollard in Post 16 have helped organised and record in
many sports events in primary and secondary schools.
Year 11 students Nathan McGarrity, Jack Wilkins, Zac
Welshman and Luke Mason have helped referee in a few
special school football competitions at the Alan Higgs and
have been praised for their professionalism.
Our Year 7-9 sports leaders have been very busy and
have helped organise and officiate in many activities
ranging from Sportshall Athletics and Swimming Galas for
both primary and secondary. Their commitment has been
excellent and the primary schools have praised them
when they have helped with their Sports Day.

Olympic Torch
Whitley Academy Olympic torch has been designed by Mr
Sandoe and Stephen Pithouse Year 13. It will be used for
the Year 7 Olympic Sports Day and on Monday 2nd July it
will be present when the ‘real’ torch leaves Coventry at
6.45am. It will then be carried by 4 runners and Miss
Sloyan to Howes Primary and All Saints Primary for their
pupils to celebrate the day.
