Completing the Process - Analyze Autodesk
Inventor Designs
Structural Research and Analysis Corp.
developed COSMOS/DesignSTAR
for Autodesk Inventor to bring
analysis to the forefront of the
design cycle.
As the first analysis solution to
offer full associativity with
Autodesk Inventor, COSMOS/
Design-STAR offers the same
single-day productivity and large-model
performance you have come to expect
from your solid modeler. Full
associativity with Autodesk Inventor
means changes made in one program
are automatically updated in the other.
As a result, you can now take advantage
of the analysis tools available in
COSMOS/DesignSTAR throughout all
stages of the design process.
Results in Minutes
COSMOS/DesignSTAR allows you to verify your
Autodesk Inventor models and create multiple “What
if?” scenarios quickly and accurately. With
COSMOS/DesignSTAR, analysis results can be
obtained in a matter of minutes, instead of days or
weeks.
Because it is designed for nonspecialists, the
software features a native Windows ® environment
with drag-and-drop analysis tools, an easy-to-use
interface, and helpful tutorials. But that’s not to say it
is lacking in power. Indeed, COSMOS/DesignSTAR
offers sophisticated analysis features usually found in
expensive, traditional finite element analysis
programs. Design analysis capabilities include stress,
frequency, displacement, buckling, thermal, assembly
analysis with gap/contact, and nonlinear stress. The
application also features a range of advanced analysis
options such as electromagnetic and computational
fluid dynamic solutions.
Only COSMOS/DesignSTAR features the AccuStress
transitional mesher. It automatically generates a fine
mesh with smaller elements near small features and
curved geometry, and can create 100,000 elements
per minute. AccuStress also includes built-in Jacobian
check features as well as automatic and manual
COSMOS/DesignSTAR from Structural Research and Analysis Corp. is
designed for use by nonspecialists who need to verify their Autodesk
Inventor models. Results of an analysis are provided in minutes, not
days or weeks.
controls on parts, faces, edges, and vertices.
The software is based on the Parasolid geometry
engine and supports the ACIS, IGES, and STEP
standards. You can import models from most
major computer-aided design programs into
COSMOS/DesignSTAR for analysis and evaluation.
If you need to share analysis information with the
rest of your company or the rest of the world,
COSMOS/DesignSTAR offers HTML report generation
capabilities and open GL for advanced visualization of
results. Users familiar with C++ and Visual Basic can
use the COSMOS/DesignSTAR application
programming interface to create custom applications.
This technology makes it possible for you to easily
share and record data, as well as customize
information.
COSMOS/DesignSTAR provides the analysis power
you need to handle even the most complex design
tasks, while being intuitive enough for any engineer
and designer to learn and use, regardless of previous
experience.
