Autodesk Streamline, the
hosted, Web-based service
that enables small- and
mid-sized manufacturers
to share personalized design data
with members of the manufacturing
team, includes several new features.
A Publishing wizard lets you post design
data directly to Autodesk Streamline,
AND TRENDS
Enhanced Service Facilitates
Web-Based Collaboration
Mathcad Client software, from MathSoft
Engineering and Education Inc., lets
you use extranets and the Internet to
share applications and worksheets
created in Mathcad.
Because it supports the MathML standard, you can
publish mathematics-related presentations and content
online. In addition, you can combine the navigation capabilities
of your Web browser with the math display
and calculation capabilities of Mathcad Client to
publish technical material on the Internet.
Mathcad Client also supports AutoCAD software,
enabling you to embed calculations and
other content in the application.
The application makes it possible for you to
share your work with those who may not have access
to a Mathcad application. Mathcad Client enables users
to interact with, save, and print documents with their
own annotations. It automatically restricts changes to
the structure of original documents; authors can add restrictions
to help protect their work.
Mathcad 2001 software features a high-performance
calculation engine, region dependency analysis capabilities,
as well as a modeling and simulation module that
lets you create prototypes and test systems. A software
development kit allows you to build custom Mathcad
components.
makes it possible for you to interact
with large assemblies midstream. To
view internal parts, you can turn off the
visibility of outside components and
make them transparent.
New 3D viewing and markup capabilities
enable you to use your browser and
modem to view 3D design data and
mark up single parts of large assemblies,
while 2D viewing and markup capabilities
make it possible to see and annotate
drawing. To navigate easily between different
sheets in a drawing or different
views in a sheet, simply point and click.
This eliminates the need to wait for an
entire multisheet drawing to download,
which is especially handy if you need
access to information contained in just
one sheet.
In addition, security has been enhanced,
the user interface has been redesigned,
and the search/query functionality
has been improved.
