LINCOLN SCHOOL DISTRICT 156 - FEBRUARY 25, 2013 <br />
The Regular Meeting ofthe Board ofEducation School <strong>District</strong> 156, Cook County, Illinois was<br />
duly called to order and held on the 25 th day of February 25, 2013 at 6: 10 p.m., in the <strong>Lincoln</strong><br />
<strong>Elementary</strong> School Building, 410 - 157 m Street, Calumet City, Illinois, within the boundaries of<br />
said <strong>District</strong>.<br />
President Kidd called the meeting to order with a Roll Call followed by the Pledge ofAllegiance.<br />

McGowan as Supervisor of Technical Support Systems, effective February 22, 2013.<br />

It is the Superintendent's recommendation to approve employment of the above<br />
mentioned personnel subject to successful completion ofthe medical examination<br />
and forms, as required by Section 24-5 ofthe School Code, a Child Abuse Registry<br />
check, and submission ofall forms, documents and certifications required by law<br />
and/or requested by the <strong>District</strong>.<br />

1. Manifestations by Design, Inc. to present the following two workshops for parents:<br />
a. Creating Family "Agreements" Your Family Will Love on March 7, 2013.<br />
b. Understanding Sensory Overload - ADHD vs. Sensory Overload on March 14,<br />
2013. The fee for the workshops is $350 each (Total $700) and will be paid<br />
through the Early Childhood Grant.<br />
2. SimplexGrinnell Service Agreement for the testing and inspection of <strong>Lincoln</strong><br />
<strong>Elementary</strong> School's Fire Alarm System from 11112013 - 12/3112013 at a fee of$3,795.<br />
3. Public Consulting Group, Inc. License Agreement to provide <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>Elementary</strong> School<br />
<strong>District</strong> 156 with Section 504 module to create and manage the plan in the EasyIEP<br />
system. The initial one-year agreement shall continue until the 28 th day of February<br />
2014. The annual fees associated with Public Consulting Group, Inc. will be $1.00 x<br />
1,073 total student enrollment $1,073 for the first year.

a). Administrators plan to recognize Kim Spivey at the Next Early Dismissal<br />
as recipient ofthe Making-A-Difference Award for her work in <strong>Lincoln</strong>'s<br />

C. The Board was provided with Gallagher Bassett Collective Liability Insurance Report dated<br />
February 1,2013 for liability, property and technology insurance to review.<br />
D. Country Companies Worker's Compensation Report was provided to the Board for<br />
review. The National Council on Compensation Insurance, Inc. (NCCI) Workers<br />
Compensation Experience Rating from 7/1112012 to 2/1112013. <strong>District</strong> 156 received an<br />
experience mod rating of .93 compared to 1.05 for the same time frame in 201112012. The<br />
<strong>District</strong> should anticipate in their insurance rate for worker's compensation.<br />
E. IASB - 2013 Constitution & Position Statements were provided to Board Members.
F. Freedom ?fInformation Request (FOIA) - Todd Glickman. Information requested was sent<br />
to Mr. Ghckman on February 6, 2013. A copy ofthe <strong>District</strong>'s response letter was provided<br />
to the Board for review.<br />

Superintendent to have Planera Architects Inc. to proceed with a Request for Proposal (RFP) for<br />
the coordination and possible planned service agreement for <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>Elementary</strong> School's<br />
HVAC.<br />

C. The Board has scheduled a Special Meeting to be held on March 4, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. for the<br />
purpose ofcompleting Dr. Taylor's performance evaluation. Dr. Taylor provided the Board<br />
with a letter agreeing to his evaluation be conducted after the March 1 st deadline identified<br />
in his employment contract.<br />
D. Training Workshops for Elected School Board Members<br />

IASB has provided School Boards with dates professional development workshops will be<br />
held for newly elected school board members and first time board members to attend after<br />
the April 9, 2013 Consolidated Election.<br />
E. The Board will review the October 2012 PRESS Issue as a "Committee ofthe Whole" at the<br />
March 25, 2013 Regular School Board Meeting.<br />
F. School Board Member Rawls informed Board Members not able to attend the IASB - Data<br />
First Workshop on February 15 and 16,2013 was extremely informative. The focus ofthe<br />
workshop was to provide information on how to interrupt student data test scores. The<br />
workshops also stressed the importance ofteacher quality and distribution of the<br />
teachers as a key to instructing students.<br />
