coal block allocation scam.
Manoj,one ofthe directors of AMRIron
worth to qualify for the allocation.
The FIR added. 'The company representative
attended a meeting on September
it was said AMR wasn't part ofthe Jayaswal
Group, but its equity was held by Lokmat
them as numbers 4 and 5.
Umesh, who is still in the employ of the
accused, Dr Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, was
declared hostile by the court because he
a memo dated 2 August 2010. This memo
bears Umesh's signature (along with Laxman
Singh's and GEI investigating officer A.G.L.
shown the clubs and identified them as the
previous interview to damage his ear Umesh
testified that he signed what was placed
Laxman Singh was an "independent witness"
asked to go to Kaul's office in the CR! headquarters
by a superior on the day the memo
was written. Singh had said golf dubs were
taken out of the bag. The bag and the set of
clubs are two separate pieces of evidence,
sealed and displayed eparately. The hood of
the bag still bears a 2009 CFSL seal. The only
way the golf clubs could have come out of
the bag a year later is if they were placed init
after breaking the seal. This apparently, wasn't
done. So how didthe CBI's independent
CBI ordered to probe
bail in money case
CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on
Tuesdayordered the CBI to probe a case where drug
peddler Parveen Kumar's uncle Hakam Rai gave a
representation to Panchkula police, stating that
Kumar had alleged that he obtained bail from the
high court after paying Rs 37 lakh to some person.
The case came up forhearing before Justice Jitendra
Chauhan.
The court of Justice Chauhan directed the CBI
to complete the inquiry within four months and
cancelled the bail ofParveen Kumar and other two
accused Harvinder Singh and JoraSingh. The court
had granted them bail on July 27.
A Panchkula Sector 26 resident Hakam Rai filed a
complaintwith Deputy Commissioner ofPolice (DCP)
about the bail matter and later the police moved
an application in High court seeking cancellation
of bail. After opium was obtained from Kumar, he
was booked under NDPS Act.
On May 23, the court of AdditionalDistrict and Sessions
Judge Sanjay Sandhir had dismissed Praveen's
bail petition on the ground that a huge quantity of
opium was recovered from his possession.
However, on July 27, the court was informed that
a challan had not been filed against him, whereas
it was filed in the lower court. Itwas not contested
that the quantity ofopium was commercial and no
other case was pending against him.
