Letter from Paul W. Hamann, President, and Jeff Anderson,

Dear Friends,
For over 32 years, The Night Ministry has been reaching
out to those in need: the homeless, the precariously
housed, those needing healthcare, homeless youth
needing a safe place to stay and someone to guide them
on a path to stability, the lonely, and those whom society
has forgotten. Too often, society looks as those served by
The Night Ministry and can only say, “Thank God it isn’t
me.”
However, it is “me.” It is you. It is us.
The poet John Donne, in his Meditation XVII, exhorts us to
remember that we are all related. Our very participation
in humanity means that, when someone else suffers,
we suffer. You suffer. When one experiences joy, we are
joyous. You are joyous. When someone needs help, we
need help. You need help. We are all diminished by the
needs of others and are called upon to help them.
When caring, compassionate people reach out to support
those who are facing unimaginable challenges in life, we
all reach out. You reach out. You help.
This past year at The Night Ministry has been an
extraordinary year of reaching out, of offering a helping
hand. Our three homeless youth housing programs
reached their full operational capacity, realizing the full
impact of recent growth on our services. More than 1,000
adults received health care as a part of our Outreach &
Health Ministry Program. Our outreach staff reached out
to 4,100 individuals in need of help. More than 300 youth
and their children stayed in our shelters. Our outreach

members.
They reach out to The Night Ministry and lend us their
support. In doing so, they reach out and lend a hand to
those in need.
The Night Ministry is privileged to partner with you in
offering a helping hand. We thank you for allowing us
to do so in your name and with your support. It is only
when we all work together: me, you, us, that we can make
a difference.
With much gratitude for your support of our mission,
and
None of this, of course, would have been possible without
the support of those who partner in our work through
their contributions of time, talent, and financial resources.
These individuals and groups, in acknowledging the
humanity they share with those in need, make our
community stronger when they recognize that the ties
