7M students become teachers! (Scary!)
Year 7 students are studying Ancient Indian culture in
History. As a class they were required to learn details
about the Indus Valley (an Ancient cultural group from
India). There was so much information to be learnt that
the students had to take over and become teachers
themselves (a very scary experience for their teacher).
Each group was given a specific topic to research. The
group then had to create an anchor chart on the topic
so that they could present it to the class and teach each
other about the Indus Valley. After 10 informative
presentations students now know so much more about
the Indus Valley and can call on each other as experts
in the field when it comes time to do their ‘Spy journal’
assignment on Ancient Indian culture.

Year 6/7 Camp at Maranatha,Yandina is to be held from
Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 June.
This will be a 3 day camp (2 nights). This camp is designed to be
a fun, out of school activity that builds confidence for next year
and rewards the students for the effort they have put in this
year. They will be encouraged to use team skills by
participating in numerous adventure activities.
Remaining camp fees to be paid by Wednesday, 5 June 2013.

Recently in Mathematics Year 6 students
assumed the role of Educational
Entrepreneurs. Their individual task was to
develop a new board game incorporating
Fractions, Percentages and Chance. Ensuring
that their board game would pass the
standards, each student tested each others
skills and provided a critical analysis of
each board game, at the same time applying
their knowledge and understanding of
Fractions.
