Key Areas
• The enhancement of the Memory assessment service
at the Memorial Hospital to support early referral
diagnosis and treatment,
• Reduction in antipsychotic prescribing: work with
Oxleas, GP's and care homes to review and reduce
prescribing of anti‐psychotics,
• Dementia training delivered by the Alzheimer's society
in care homes and across emergency departments in
QE
• The introduction of additional post diagnostic support
to patients, relatives and carers through the Dementia
Advisory service and Dementia Support Worker

Going Forward
• Improving the referral pathway through use of Referral
and Booking Management System (RMBS)
• Current dementia CQUINs: Assuring dignity and
nutrition on older adult Dementia wards;
Improvements in early detection patient referrals from
Primary care
• Review of the role of the Dementia Advisors and the
part‐time Dementia Support worker
• Information worker for Dementia ‐commissioned
across health and social care to create a directory of
services available to patients and carers
