President, and 2012 British Car Day Chairman.
Greetings fellow British vehicle
enthusiasts (that's cars
and motorcycles)! Our annual
car show is just around the
corner, and this year should
be another great one in the long tradition that
BMCNO has cultivated for the last 21 years. I'll
make one last appeal for three things - participation,
volunteers, and sponsors.
For all of you in the club, this is our big blow out,
once-a-year opportunity to get our cars out of the
garage, on the road, and bring them all together
in the show. If the cars can't make it, come on
out to get together with friends for the camaraderie
we enjoy with this wonderful hobby of ours.
That's a good way to get inspired to get your car
out of the garage.
We currently have 41 pre-registrations so far, so
my appeal is for you club members yet to register,
do it now. You'll find a registration form on page
12 of this publication, or on our web site,
bmcno.org. Click on the 2012 show, and it's the top
left link on that page. Then bring a car to the
show or at least plan on attending either the welcome
reception on Friday night, or the show, or
best of all, both events. We'd love to see you again
on show weekend.
Our show typically receives rave reviews from attendees
and guests. That's primarily because we
have so many great volunteers from the club that
work to make it that way. If you're not already
signed up, another way to participate in the show
is volunteering to work in the show. At this point
we have most of the volunteer slots filled in. You
can see where/when and with whom you're scheduled
to work by looking at the Volunteer list on the
2012 British Car Day "Volunteers" link on the web
site. Go to bmcno.org, click on "2012 Show", then
the "Volunteers" button. If you're not signed up
yet and would like to work, look at the list and let
me know what you'd like to do. Call me at 225-

like to do something different than you're currently
signed up for, let me know that too so I can
make a change to the volunteer listing. We're in
desparate need of a Registration Committee chair
person. If you are good with Access databases and
have many hours free the day/night before and the
day of the show, we really need your help.
The next appeal is for participation in our first
British Car Day sponsor contest. We're trying to
raise more money for Delgado Automotive Department
scholarships, and the best way to do that is
to encourage more people and businesses to sponsor
our show. This year we've started a contest for
you, our BMCNO members to go out and get some
more sponsors. You'll find guidelines for the sponsor
contest and a 2012 British Car Day Sponsors
form beginning on page 7 of this newsletter or on
the web site. When you think of someone to approach
about sponsoring the show, contact me at
225-926-6946 or mlandrick@gmail.com, and I'll
make sure somebody else isn't already approaching
that person/business. Then you're free to put
on your best sales job to get more sponsors, and by
doing that, become eligible to win one of three nice
prizes that will be awarded at the club meeting on
March 27th. We've got the urgency button pushed
for the sponsor contest, since we're looking to have
all the donations in hand by March 15 so we can
promote the sponsors for the show. If you have an
idea and want to get started, it's not too late. Let
me know who you're approaching, and we'll hold
up the promotion stuff to get the last few donations
in hand.
So, let's get those cars ready, registered, and I look
forward to seeing you and your car(s) at the show.
