Message from Rick Huber, our 2012 BMCNO Vice<br />

President, and 2012 <strong>British</strong> Car Day Chairman.<br />

Greetings fellow <strong>British</strong> vehicle<br />

enthusiasts (that's cars<br />

and motorcycles)! Our annual<br />

car show is just around the<br />

corner, and this year should<br />

be another great one in the long tradition that<br />

BMCNO has cultivated for the last 21 years. I'll<br />

make one last appeal for three things - participation,<br />

volunteers, and sponsors.<br />

For all of you in the club, this is our big blow out,<br />

once-a-year opportunity to get our cars out of the<br />

garage, on the road, and bring them all together<br />

in the show. If the cars can't make it, come on<br />

out to get together with friends for the camaraderie<br />

we enjoy with this wonderful hobby of ours.<br />

That's a good way to get inspired to get your car<br />

out of the garage.<br />

We currently have 41 pre-registrations so far, so<br />

my appeal is for you club members yet to register,<br />

do it now. You'll find a registration form on page<br />

12 of this publication, or on our web site,<br />

bmcno.org. Click on the 2012 show, and it's the top<br />

left link on that page. Then bring a car to the<br />

show or at least plan on attending either the welcome<br />

reception on Friday night, or the show, or<br />

best of all, both events. We'd love to see you again<br />

on show weekend.<br />

Our show typically receives rave reviews from attendees<br />

and guests. That's primarily because we<br />

have so many great volunteers from the club that<br />

work to make it that way. If you're not already<br />

signed up, another way to participate in the show<br />

is volunteering to work in the show. At this point<br />

we have most of the volunteer slots filled in. You<br />

can see where/when and with whom you're scheduled<br />

to work by looking at the Volunteer list on the<br />

2012 <strong>British</strong> Car Day "Volunteers" link on the web<br />

site. Go to bmcno.org, click on "2012 Show", then<br />

the "Volunteers" button. If you're not signed up<br />

yet and would like to work, look at the list and let<br />

me know what you'd like to do. Call me at 225-<br />

926-6946 or email mlandrick@gmail.com. If you'd<br />

like to do something different than you're currently<br />

signed up for, let me know that too so I can<br />

make a change to the volunteer listing. We're in<br />

desparate need of a Registration Committee chair<br />

person. If you are good with Access databases and<br />

have many hours free the day/night before and the<br />

day of the show, we really need your help.<br />

The next appeal is for participation in our first<br />

<strong>British</strong> Car Day sponsor contest. We're trying to<br />

raise more money for Delgado Automotive Department<br />

scholarships, and the best way to do that is<br />

to encourage more people and businesses to sponsor<br />

our show. This year we've started a contest for<br />

you, our BMCNO members to go out and get some<br />

more sponsors. You'll find guidelines for the sponsor<br />

contest and a 2012 <strong>British</strong> Car Day Sponsors<br />

form beginning on page 7 of this newsletter or on<br />

the web site. When you think of someone to approach<br />

about sponsoring the show, contact me at<br />

225-926-6946 or mlandrick@gmail.com, and I'll<br />

make sure somebody else isn't already approaching<br />

that person/business. Then you're free to put<br />

on your best sales job to get more sponsors, and by<br />

doing that, become eligible to win one of three nice<br />

prizes that will be awarded at the club meeting on<br />

March 27th. We've got the urgency button pushed<br />

for the sponsor contest, since we're looking to have<br />

all the donations in hand by March 15 so we can<br />

promote the sponsors for the show. If you have an<br />

idea and want to get started, it's not too late. Let<br />

me know who you're approaching, and we'll hold<br />

up the promotion stuff to get the last few donations<br />

in hand.<br />

So, let's get those cars ready, registered, and I look<br />

forward to seeing you and your car(s) at the show.<br />
