Background
In 1990, a donation of $2 million was made to endow the Wendy and Emery Reves
International Breast Cancer Symposium and to establish the Reves Breast Cancer
Diagnostic and Treatment Center at UT Southwestern University Hospitals and Clinics in honor
of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Reves.

Wendy Reves, a native of Marshall, Texas, became a leading New York runway model before
meeting Emery Reves, a distinguished Hungarian author and publisher, in 1945 while he was
living in New York. In 1930 Emery Reves had established the Paris-based Cooperation Press,
the first international syndicated news service. They lived in the Villa La Pausa in France, the
former home of Coco Chanel. While restoring the home, they began furnishing it with items
acquired on their extensive travels, including a collection of art valued at more than $35 million.
The collection was given to the Dallas Museum of Art in 1985, five years after Mr. Reves’ death.
Mrs. Reves, who died in 2007, received the Komen Award for Philanthropy, the National Arts
Club Award for Philanthropy (New York), and the TACA Silver Cup Award (Dallas), and was an
honorary trustee of the International Churchill Society.
This course is designed for physicians and medical professionals, research scientists and
faculty, postdoctoral and clinical fellows, graduate students and other interested individuals.
Upon completion of this live activity, participants should be able to link the educational objectives
to Core Competencies and:
• Describe the latest research as it relates to understanding critical aspects of
breast cancer development.
• Recognize the important research areas which focus on the unique aspects of breast
cancer development.
• Identify emerging areas of translational research related to breast cancer.
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education
for physicians.
The University ® of Texas Southwestern Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum
of 4.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with
the extent of their participation in the activity.
It is UT Southwestern’s policy that participants in CME activities should be made aware of

has completed and signed a conflict of interest statement. The faculty members’ relationships
will be disclosed in the course syllabus.
Because this course is meant to educate physicians with what is currently in use and what
may be available in the future, there may be “off-label” use discussed in the presentations.
Speakers have been requested to inform the audience when off-label use is being discussed.
The registration fee entitles the participant admission to the conference, all course materials,
continental breakfast, lunch and refreshment breaks during the meeting.
Please note that space is limited, so register early! Once the registration number reaches the
maximum capacity of the T. Boone Pickens Auditorium, all additional registrants thereafter will
be provided a seat in the adjacent multi-purpose room where an audio and video feed will be
set up.
Enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of registration fee. We are unable to process any
registration without payment. Please register early. We cannot guarantee course
materials on site to anyone registering later than September 6, 2013.
Refund Policy
A $50 handling fee will be deducted from cancellation refunds. Refund requests must be
received by mail or fax prior to September 13, 2013. No refunds will be made thereafter.

adjacent to the T. Boone Pickens Biomedical Building. The garage entrance is to the
right of the front building entrance. The garage elevators will take you to the third floor.
