Lance Hockridge<br />

Chief Executive Officer<br />

Lance Hockridge joined QR Limited as CEO in <strong>2007</strong>. He has more<br />

than 30 years experience in transportation and heavy industrial<br />

sectors in Australia and the US. Beginning at BHP his roles included<br />

Human Resources and Industrial Relations, General Manager of BHP<br />

Transport, head of BHP’s Long Products business and President<br />

Industrial Markets responsible for Port Kembla’s steelmaking operation<br />

and New Zealand Steel. In March 2005, Lance was appointed<br />

President of BlueScope Steel’s North American operations.<br />

Stephen Cantwell<br />

Group Executive General Manager, QR Freight<br />

Stephen’s QR executive management positions have spanned<br />

operations, business development, corporate strategy &<br />

planning and infrastructure areas. In January this year, he was<br />

appointed head of QR Freight, a challenging role focused on<br />

spearheading QR’s national freight ambitions across a wide<br />

portfolio. He is an adjunct professor with the University of<br />

<strong>Queensland</strong>’s School of Information Technology and Electrical<br />

Engineering and is also a Director of the CRC for Integrated<br />

Engineering Asset Management (CIEAM).<br />

Mike Carter<br />

Executive General Manager, QR Network<br />

Michael has extensive management experience in<br />

QR’s freight, passenger and heavy haul rail businesses.<br />

Responsible for the commercial performance of QR’s<br />

10,000-kilometre network, Michael is directing the largest<br />

infrastructure development program in QR Network’s history,<br />

valued at more than $10 billion. In addition to his work for QR,<br />

Michael was a consultant to the London Underground during<br />

its restructure, advising on access issues for private operators<br />

and European rail infrastructure standards.<br />
