Brief course description:
During year 11, learners in the English 101 course will be working toward the full
programme of NCEA Achievement Standards. This course will be offered to learners who
have been selected as being capable of working to the levels required to undertake a full
achievement standards course.
Learners will be required to complete a series of assignments and assessments that will
earn them credits, both through internal assessment and external assessment.
Course pre-requisites or co-requisites (if any)
Course Prerequisites/ Requirements
Learners will be working between levels 5 - 6 in the national curriculum, therefore the
prerequisite will require students to be working at or above these levels at the time of
selection, this will be determined by testing in the 3rd or 4th terms. Promotion is
determined by both the teacher and Head of Learning with the final determination being
made by the Principal if needed.
