Charné Majavie who is<br />

do<strong>in</strong>g her degree <strong>in</strong><br />

Physiotherapy has<br />

<strong>co</strong>mpleted her exams<br />

and has passed all<br />

seven subjects. Upon<br />

return<strong>in</strong>g home for a<br />

well deserved break,<br />

she <strong>in</strong>sisted on help<strong>in</strong>g<br />

at the Maths Challenge<br />

where she was a joy to<br />

have around. Hav<strong>in</strong>g<br />

three younger sisters of<br />

her own, she loved work<strong>in</strong>g with the children and managed to<br />

ga<strong>in</strong> the trust of those who needed extra attention.<br />

Well done Charné, you make us proud!<br />

News from the Eden<br />

Campus front is that<br />

Candy Gadebe is<br />

one of their star<br />

students. This first<br />

year her results<br />

were excellent. Mak<strong>in</strong>g<br />

her one of the<br />

top achievers <strong>in</strong> her<br />

class.<br />

Candy was also<br />

chosen as one of<br />

the Marshals at the<br />

Knysna Oyster Festival,<br />

which is an<br />

honor for any student.<br />

Berna-Lee Ewertse, a se<strong>co</strong>nd<br />

year student at Eden has<br />

spent her weeks holiday <strong>in</strong> the<br />

<strong>Born</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Africa</strong> office. Dur<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the week she assisted the<br />

<strong>Born</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Africa</strong> adm<strong>in</strong> team with<br />

various tasks. This was to prepare<br />

her for slott<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to a work<br />

environment with <strong>co</strong>nfidence.<br />

George has also done extremely<br />

well by pass<strong>in</strong>g all her<br />

subjects with high grades.<br />

a chef at one of our<br />

local five star hotels.<br />

What is happen<strong>in</strong>g at Wittedrift High?<br />

Our BIA students. We our so proud of them!<br />

Well done team, you have managed to <strong>co</strong>mplete the first<br />

half of <strong>2011</strong> and with fly<strong>in</strong>g <strong>co</strong>lors! <strong>Born</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Africa</strong> now<br />

boast some of the top achievers at the “small school with<br />

the big heart”, namely Wittedrift High!<br />

Not only did they assist <strong>Born</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Africa</strong> dur<strong>in</strong>g the school<br />

holidays with the Maths Challenge, but they also all managed<br />

to pass their exams did this very well <strong>in</strong>deed. We<br />

have had so much feedback lately that these students are<br />

always impeccably dressed, that their manners towards<br />

their teachers are outstand<strong>in</strong>g and that they are respected<br />

by their peers.<br />

Their <strong>in</strong>volvement <strong>in</strong> netball, surf<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

the school choir, athletics, rugby,<br />

tug of war, Field Band and other<br />

extra curricular activities has also<br />

ensured <strong>Born</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Africa</strong>’s all round<br />

<strong>co</strong>mmitment to the school.<br />
