This shows the current as well as average fuel consumption and has two sum counters. Fuel consumption per hectare can also be logged at the same time in the on-board computer. On the new generation 400 Varios, cooling has been adapted to the increased power. At the same time, accessibility for servicing has been improved significantly. The cooling units for hydraulic oil, transmission oil, fuel and air-conditioning can be swung up away from the radiator to give you better access. Whether you operate your tractor on the road or in the field, for grassland operations or row crop work, in any case you are dependent on superior overall profitability. Today the main factor here is fuel consumption. The 400 Varios have quiet state-of-the-art engines with long servicing intervals. With a fuel tank capacity of 245 litres, there is no need to refuel on long working days. Power and economy from 4-cylinders Fendt employs a high-tech four-cylinder Deutz engine with four-valve technology for greater economy. Thanks to the four-cylinder engine, the 400 Vario has an incredibly compact construction, which gives it unprecedented manoeuvrability for this power class. The engine has a speed-independent common rail high-pressure injection system and electronic engine control.

Cooling and metering of recirculated exhaust optimises the combustion process substantially and fuel consumption is reduced significantly compared to simple internal exhaust gas recirculation systems. Fully approved for RME fuel The 400 Vario is also approved for RME fuel without limitations, as are all Fendt tractors starting with the 1995 models. The use of rape methyl ester according to DIN EN 14214 is fully approved by Fendt as standard specification. You profit from the cost benefits – the tractor does not need to be converted, nor is costly additional insurance required.
