This requires an economical engine. To keep it working at its economical optimum while achieving the greatest area coverage possible is the transmission’s job. From 30 metres per hour to 50 km/h, every speed is possible without steps and entirely gap-free. The 400 Vario is therefore predestined for operations in mixed farms. The stepless drive on the manoeuvrable 400 Vario with its powerful PTO is very useful, especially for grassland work and row crop operations.

With conventional transmissions, you are always a gear too high or too low - because of the steps. With Vario you can mobilise the hidden power reserves between the ranges. That means: power flow without interruptions. Tractor Management System TMS available as option If you decide for the optional TMS for your new 400 Vario, the tractor electronics take over engine and transmission control after being enabled. The driver only needs to set the desired speed; the TMS controls the rest. The system automatically finds the optimum engine speed and the matching transmission ratio for the desired travel speed. This allows you to work in a more relaxed manner and is automatically more efficient.
