For me black <strong>and</strong> white photography is<br />
about story telling, so when I am taken by<br />
an image, I try to bring the emotion that I<br />
felt when I took the image out, so the viewer<br />
can enjoy it as much as I did capturing it.<br />
Most <strong>of</strong> my images are controlled in one or<br />
more ways. I <strong>of</strong>ten construct the story I see<br />
in my head into black <strong>and</strong> white imagery.<br />
I run photographic workshops on a New<br />
Zeal<strong>and</strong> Merino Sheep station, where I<br />
encourage the participants to tell stories<br />
using black <strong>and</strong> white photography, <strong>and</strong><br />
don’t let the confusion <strong>of</strong> colour get in the<br />
way.<br />
For me the black <strong>and</strong> white image has<br />
always been the core, the essence & the<br />
soul <strong>of</strong> photography. It has a simplicity,<br />
elegance & beauty that can define<br />
description.<br />
I share my thoughts in my photography with<br />
the viewer, the good days & the bad. It is in<br />
the images you just have to look.<br />
