Jeanette Serrat
“I photograph what moves me, be it a fleeting
moment in one’s daily life or a lingering feeling
from an escape to nature. I believe there is beauty
in everything around us, not just the flowers, the
diverse landscape, the sunset or the ocean. It
is also in the daily grind of city life, abandoned
buildings, the old and the forgotten.”
Originally born and raised in Sweden, Jeanette
has lived in the U.S. since 2002. For the past
few years, she has developed a passion for
photography which came out of exploring the
creative possibilities of an iPhone while taking
an avid part in the mobile arts movement. She
captures a lot of her images with an DSLR these
days, alongside the iPhone, since it is the camera
that is always with you, after all.
Jeanette has been awarded honorable mentions
in the MPA and IPPA competitions for mobile
photography and her work has been exhibited in
various galleries around the country. Currently,
her work (DSLR) was selected for the Annual
Contemporary Exhibit at the Philadelphia Photo
Arts Center.
