Mark Jakubowski begins his third year with the <strong>Sabres</strong><br />

and first as the Director of Hockey Administration. His<br />

responsibilities include statistical analysis and contract<br />

research relating to player negotiations and arbitrations,<br />

managing player transfers, team roster administration,<br />

and all matters relating to <strong>com</strong>pliance with the <strong>NHL</strong><br />

Collective Bargaining Agreement, the IIHF Agreement,<br />

and other <strong>NHL</strong> agreements.<br />

Jakubowski graduated with an economics degree from the University of<br />

Rochester, where he also played baseball. He resides in Hamburg, NY.<br />

Corey Smith returns to the organization for his third<br />

season as Administrative Assistant Coach. As the<br />

team’s Administrative Assistant Coach, he is responsible<br />

for all of the video editing and analysis of games, as<br />

well as pre-scouting each opponent. Smith is also<br />

involved in various other hockey department issues,<br />

including organizing travel schedules and statistical<br />

analysis.<br />

Smith, a graduate of SUNY Cortland joined the <strong>Sabres</strong> in January 2005 as<br />

a Hockey Video Analyst in the team’s hockey department. Smith was promoted<br />

to his new position in January 2006. The <strong>Buffalo</strong>, NY native is the son of<br />

former <strong>Sabres</strong>’ forward Derek Smith.<br />

Tim<br />

Macre<br />

Athletic Trainer<br />

Macre enters his third season with the <strong>Sabres</strong> after<br />

spending the previous nine years in the New York<br />

Rangers organization. Macre was the Head Athletic<br />

Trainer for the Hartford Wolf*Pack and the<br />

Binghamton Rangers in the American Hockey League.<br />

Among the highlights in his tenure with the Wolf*Pack<br />

was the 2000 Calder Cup championship and the<br />

2001 AHL All-Star Classic in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.<br />

A 1994 graduate of Bowling Green University, Macre<br />

also spent some time teaching at Monroe Community College in Rochester,<br />

NY.<br />

Macre resides in Lancaster, NY., with his wife Katie and their son Andrew (6<br />

months).<br />
