(Under 19 Years Boys & Girls)<br />

General:<br />

The <strong>CBSE</strong> <strong>Inter</strong> <strong>School</strong> (<strong>Cluster</strong> I) <strong>Basketball</strong> <strong>Tournament</strong> <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>11</strong> (under 19 years, for Boys & Girls) will be<br />

held from <strong>11</strong> th to 13 th November, <strong>2010</strong> at Kaziranga English Academy, Guwahati – 35.<br />

The school is located 18 kms from Guwahati railway station and 2 kms east of Balaji Mandir / ISBT N.H. 37.<br />

We shall arrange conveyance for outstation participating schools from railway station / bus stand to our school<br />

campus on prior information and request.<br />

Schedule of Events:<br />

10-<strong>11</strong>-10 (Wednesday, A/N) : Arrival & Reporting of the outstation participating teams.<br />

Meeting of participating team Manager / Coach, <strong>CBSE</strong><br />

observer & the Management Committee.<br />

<strong>11</strong>-<strong>11</strong>-10 (Thursday) : Reporting of Local <strong>School</strong>s, Opening Ceremony & Matches<br />

12-<strong>11</strong>-10 (Friday) : Day 2 of Matches<br />

13-<strong>11</strong>-10 (Saturday) : Finals, Closing Ceremony and Dispersal of Teams<br />

Discipline:<br />

All the participants of the team and their in-charges will be under the administrative control of the Principal and<br />

the Chairman of the organizing committee. They will be governed by the rules and regulations of the school /<br />

<strong>CBSE</strong>.<br />

Indiscipline on part of any team or its members will lead to disqualification and team / member may be<br />

debarred from the match / tournament and will be asked to leave the campus immediately. Team Manager<br />

shall be responsible for the conduct of the team on the ground, and the school campus.<br />

Consumption of tobacco, liquor, drugs etc. is strictly prohibited within the school campus.<br />

Accompanying Officials:<br />

No team will be allowed to participate without the Team manager and Coach / PET as designated by the<br />

school Principal. No team shall be accompanied by more than two officials. Any non-designated person(s)<br />

accompanying the team will not be entertained or allowed to stay for any matter at the venue.<br />

At least one female, in the capacity of coach or manager, should accompany a girl’s team.<br />

Arrival & Reception:<br />

All the outstation participating teams must reach our school campus by 5 p.m.on 10 th Nov ’10 (Wednesday).<br />

Local team may report by 7:30 a.m. on <strong>11</strong> th Nov ’10 (Thursday).<br />

Accommodation & Food:<br />

All teams will be provided free on campus accommodation, separately for boys and girls. Suitable & essential<br />

bedding will be provided on rental basis (@ Rs. 35/- per head, per day), if intimated in advance.<br />

Team coaches, managers and participants shall be provided vegetarian meals, comprising morning breakfast,<br />

lunch, evening snacks & dinner in the school mess at a nominal charge of Rs. 175/- per head, per day. Meals /<br />

snacks would be served as per the scheduled mess timings only. Team Manager should purchase food<br />

coupon(s) from the ‘Registration Counter’ in advance.<br />

Infirmary:<br />

Our school has a well stocked Infirmary, being managed by two qualified Nurses. A doctor visits at least twice<br />

a week.<br />

Precautionary Money:<br />

A cash amount of Rs 1,000/- (Rupees One thousands only), being refundable deposit, should be paid in<br />

advance or at the time of reporting to the school.<br />

Documents to be sent in Advance:<br />

The following documents should be sent to the school by 25 th Oct ’10:<br />

- Consent of Participation.<br />

- Entry / Eligibility Form duly filled and attested by the Principal.


What to Carry:<br />

- Light Bedding. Water bottles, toiletries and towels.<br />

- <strong>Basketball</strong>(s) for practice. First Aid Kit and personal sports kit.<br />

- Original Birth Certificate.<br />

- Students / players studying in class IX and above, to bring <strong>CBSE</strong> registration number given in class IX & XI<br />

(mandatory).<br />

- Students / players studying in class XI & XII to bring Class X certificate with photo issued by the board.<br />

- Photo Identity Card of all players & team officials, duly attested by the Principal.<br />

- Group photo of all players & team officials with the Principal, duly attested by the Principal.<br />

- Two school flags (size 1.5 m X 1 m) - for March Past & Flag Post.<br />

- Dress for the players of their respective school colours with chest numbers on front and back.<br />

Teams will be responsible for their own belongings. They are requested not to bring any jewellary, cash /<br />

money or valuable items.<br />

<strong>Tournament</strong> Rules & Regulations:<br />

Each school is entitled to send only one team for boys and girls, age group under 19 years i.e. born on or after<br />

01.01.92. Only bonafide student(s) shall be eligible to participate. Fielding any non bonafide student(s) shall<br />

lead to team’s disqualification. On the spot entry will not be entertained.<br />

All matches will be played as per the latest rules of <strong>Basketball</strong> Federation of India. The tournament will be<br />

conducted as per <strong>CBSE</strong> Rules & Regulations. The judgment(s) / decision(s) of the <strong>CBSE</strong> Observer / panel of<br />

judges will be final and binding. Each team should be prepared to play more than one match per day. The<br />

team should reach and report to the ground 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the match. All<br />

participating teams are required to be present at the opening and closing ceremony of the tournament.<br />

Entries and Eligibility Proforma :<br />

Last date of receiving the entries of the event with all documents is 25.10.<strong>2010</strong>. On the spot or late entry<br />

will not be accepted. Kindly send your confirmation in writing by post, FAX : (0361) 2912424 or E-mail- :<br />

principalkeaghy@yahoo.co.in and please re-confirm over telephone to the Nodal Teacher/Resource Person<br />

also. Eligibility proforma should be carefully filled in and dully verified by the Head of the institution. Overwriting<br />

in the performa is not accepted and not desirable.<br />

Any violation in the eligibility, over aged etc. shall be dealt with according to the rules.<br />
