Overview:<br />

Adjust Levels<br />

ADDING STEEL<br />

STRUCTURAL COLUMNS AND ROOF TRUSS<br />

Add structural columns and long span roof trusses to the <strong>Gym</strong>.<br />

From the North Elevation make room for the height of the Long Span Truss.<br />

Add Columns Work from Level 1 (base level) and set the Top Level to be "Bottom of Truss".<br />

Place steel columns along the exterior wall at the intersections of the grids<br />

to support the long-span truss we will add next. Select W10x49 columns.<br />

Add Truss<br />

Select Structure > Truss > Load Family (Structural > Trusses > Pratt Flat Truss)<br />

Important: Snap<br />

from "point" to "point" at tops of columns when placing trusses<br />

Attach Truss to Roof Select the Truss. Modify|Structural Trusses > Attach Top/Bottom<br />

Select the roof and the truss will update to match the underside of the roof<br />

Truss - Roof Link<br />

The top of the Truss is now associated with the bottom of the roof.<br />
