Man-Made
Mankind is a
remarkable
creation. Made in
the image of God,
the human race has changed
the world around them. They have created great
cities, put a man on the moon, constructed
highway systems, communication systems, and
economic systems. They have made it possible
to gaze upon the smallness of molecules and
observe the deepness of space. It is no wonder
that God would look upon His creation and claim,
“It is VERY good.”
The Bible, however, tells us that the heavens and
earth at sometime in the future will be destroyed
and replaced by a new heaven and new earth.
Every great structure or accomplishment of man
will vanish and not a single atom will find its way
into eternity.
Man, however, will not be left without a legacy.
His one achievement that will be in clear view
forever will be the wounds on the body of Jesus.
In a new universe void of sin, we will be reminded
of what we were. Without any concern or respect
for our Creator, we hung Him on a cross. We
rejected His Laws, we rejected His Nature, and
if that wasn’t enough, we served His enemy!
However, those wounds will not just tell of our
former nature but also the Great Love God had
bestowed towards us.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward
us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ
died for us” Romans 5:8. “And being found
in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself
and became obedient to the point of death,
even the death of the cross” Phil. 2:8. “For the
transgressions of My people He was stricken”
Isaiah 53:8. Though the wounds of Christ will
always be a reminder of the depths of our sin,
they will also be an assurance of the depths of
God’s Love towards us. “Behold what manner
of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we
should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1).
Each one of us will receive a new body fit for
eternity. We will live in a perfect universe,
perfectly serving a perfect Savior. There will be
no tears, no hostilities, no wars, no sin, and no
death. Yet among all this “perfection” the most
beautiful things will be the wounds that paid
the price for our Salvation. The wounds won’t be
beautiful because we made
them, but because Jesus
bore them!

SURVEY REVEALS THAT ALASKANS BELIEVE PRIVATE SCHOOL
PARENTS SHOULD RECEIVE FINANCIAL HELP TOWARD A CHILD’S
TUITION SINCE THEY DON’T USE THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
According to a recent poll of 800 Alaskans, completed by the Dittman
Corporation, (the week of March 13-14) resulted in strong public support
for School Choice (56-36%). Alaskans support placing a constitutional
amendment on the 2014 ballot that would allow parents to choose the
right school for their child and allow public funds to follow the child.
Additionally, by a 2-1 margin, Alaskans believe that school choice will create
a healthy competition that will improve overall performance of Alaska
schools. Dittman’s poll has a 3.4-percent margin of error and all regions of
the state were represented and balanced to the 2010 Census.
Contact all of the Alaska State Legislators and encourage them to allow
voters to vote on this change and clarification to Alaska’s constitution. Refer
to the bill numbers: HJR1 and SJR9. You can search the State of Alaska
website to read the wording in each proposed bill.

Our Giving
Theme
When we do good toward God’s children, it is
not forgotten. As we walk in faith and patience,
we will receive God’s promises, and we will
receive our full reward.
Scripture Reading
Hebrews 6: 10 “For God is not unrighteous to
forget your work and labour of love, which ye
have shewed toward his name, in that ye have
ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11
And we desire that everyone of you do shew the
same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto
the end: 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers
of them who through faith and patience inherit
the promises.”
Hebrews 6:10-12 “For God is not unfair. How
can he forget your hard work for him, or forget the
way you used to show your love for him-and still
do-by helping his children? 11 And we are anxious
that you keep right on loving others as long as
life lasts, so that you will get your full reward.
12 Then, knowing what lies ahead for you, you
won’t become bored with being a Christian nor
become spiritually dull and indifferent, but you
will be anxious to follow the example of those who
receive all that God has promised them because of
their strong faith and patience.” (TBL)
Relating to the Scripture
The writer of Hebrews is commending the
people for their support of the poor saints in
Jerusalem who are suffering famine. He also
emphasizes that God does not forget the good
that believers do for others. In fact, God’s
promise of blessing and a full reward are the
benefits of those who minister and keep on
ministering to those who are in need.
Believers can rest assured that there is great
reward for faithfulness in giving. Bible annotator
Finis J. Dake comments: “God’s promises are
His debts to man. His righteousness and justice
require Him to keep them, so you will be
rewarded.” (The Dake Annotated Reference
Bible, Hebrews 6:10 note)
As we give our tithe and offerings, through
the ministry of this church, we will be blessing
others. We also have the knowledge that God
takes notice of our giving. And with God’s
notice come God’s promises of our own
blessing.

Why Go to Sunday School?
Whether you are new to Anchorage Baptist
Temple or have been attending for years, if you
are not presently attending a 10 a.m. Adult
Sunday School class, let me encourage you to
start. Here are three reasons why you should get
involved:
First, God commands us to be around Christians
as much as possible in Hebrews 10:25, “Let us
not forsake the assembling of ourselves together.”
Second, of the four things the early disciples
did as a church, they gathered together and
“continued steadfastly in the apostle’s teachings”
Acts 2:42.
Third, our Sunday School classes are a smaller,
more intimate group to meet new friends, get
involved in special activities, and develop a
communication chain of believers who can pray
and help you in your struggles and troubles.
There is a group of people here who want to
fellowship with you and of the 14 Adult Sunday
school classes, there is one just right for you.
So make it a point to become part of an Adult
Sunday School class. If you would like, contact
the pastor that oversees the class or drop in on
different ones until you find your match.
