Air Treatment

Verified quality
Filters from GEA Air Treatment
with Eurovent certification
When you are looking for just the right filter for your equipment
– just to take one example, as replacement for a supplyair
filter in your central ventilation system – you will be confronted
by a great number of selection criteria. Instead of
tediously checking suppliers’ brochures to make sure that their
filters conform to the standards that apply to you, you can
make Eurovent certification your guide in the selection procedure.
The Eurovent seal verifies that the data in suppliers’ brochures
for a particular product category conform with all the systems
of regulations applying to the filters being offered. The testing
data can be systematically found under www.eurovent-certification.com
– and this means in turn that you benefit from a maximum
of transparency.
Fine-particulate air filters made by GEA Air Filters are tested by
Eurovent for conformity to filter-class and initial pressure-drop
specifications. Proper compliance with filter-class specifications
verifies that particles, pollen, and other suspended particles are
filtered out in accordance with the relevant standards. Pressure
losses are a measure for the resistance that the filter represents
for the air flow – and are therefore a highly relevant factor for
energy costs.
In order that buyers can depend on the reliability of the Eurovent
seal over long periods of time, Eurovent-certified filters are
tested every year. As a result, you can be sure that you are purchasing
quality filter systems. This is especially important when
you require effective filtration, at the same time as minimal pressure
drops and adherence to strict hygiene requirements – for
example, because you need effective filters for hospital or laboratory
application.
A clear signal for tested-and-proven filter quality in conformity with the strictest
standards: i.e., DIN EN 779 and DIN EN 1822. Throughout the world, only
9 companies are authorized to use the Eurovent seal (as of September 2008).
In almost 100 years of corporate history, GEA Air Treatment has developed a great number
of highly specific filter solutions for the food and beverage industries – both for conventional
as well as for complex applications.
An extensive application spectrum
A product portfolio with more than 2,000
standard and specialised filters
GEA air filters cover all areas of application in which pollutants
and suspended particulate matter must be removed from
contaminated air in production facilities.
A great number and variety of work processes contaminate room
air with pollutants and suspended particulate matter – contamination
that in many cases is highly dangerous. Such conditions
not only endanger human health, but also the quality of machines
and products. While sterile atmospheres are essential in
many situations (e.g., in operating theatres), other areas may demand
absolute absence of dust in the air (for example, with sensitive
systems in the optical industry).
Whatever user profile your rooms must fulfil: there is always a
GEA air filter that satisfies your individual requirements. The
current GEA filter portfolio includes more than 2,000 different
standard and special filters to assure fresh, pure air in all areas.
The finest emulsion mists, toxic vapours, fine-particulate dust,
and material removed during manufacturing processes: all are
reliably filtered out by GEA filters – as are bacteria, fungal spores,
and viruses.
In addition, GEA air filters powerfully support cost-effective
process management. They noticeably reduce consumption costs
for power, heat, and water – and dependably conform to legal
regulations. As a planner, you also profit from a maximum of
flexibility. The great number of variation possibilities means that
you will find at GEA a customised filter solution for any and all
of your projects.
Overview
Filter classes
The most important criteria for selecting air filters is the separation
capacity and efficiency required. We provide test certification
that documents the technical specifications for the
performance of our filters.
Our product brochures provide detailed information on GEA air
filters. We’ll gladly advise you at length and deliver you highquality
air filters or filter media according to your requirements
– also for retooling or retrofitting purposes.
Filter classes G1 – G4: Coarse-dust filter with medium degree of separation, according to DIN EN 779
Filter classes F5 – F9: Fine-particulate dust filters with medium filter efficiency according to DIN EN 779
H10 – H14 and U15: High-efficiency submicron particulate air filters (HEPA) and ultra-low-penetration air filters
(ULPA) according to DIN EN 1822
The MULTISACK bag filter is composed of several filter bags. The individual
bags, made of micro-fibreglass fleece, have been shaped so as to provide
wedge-shaped filter bags. The spacers in the individual filter bags ensure
complete utilization of the full bag depth and, in turn, of the entire filter
surface. The spacer seam is sealed. The ready-to-install filter bags are
secured to sturdy U-shaped profile frames (25 mm) by clamp fittings.
708/709 cartridges are used in
frames made of galvanised or
stainless steel. The frames are used
in duct air filters, or as wall frames.
The filter medium consists of a
special, open-pore synthetic foam
that is filled (to be abrasion-resistant)
with activated carbon in the form of
powder or globules. The filter inserts
are slid in (in V form) into the
powder-coated system frames, which
have sturdy forms.
DKB
DKC
CKL
Glove-box filters are high-efficiency submicron particulate air filters (HEPA) in
encapsulated form (model types DKA and DKB). In special application cases,
glove box filters are combined with a gas sorption filter (model types DKC
and DKD). The filters can be installed on the air-intake or the air-outlet sides.
Filters with activated-carbon cartridges can be installed only vertically.
COPULAR air filters with, one or
two connection fittings, are
primarily used for purification of air
exhausted from glove boxes used in
the nuclear and chemical industries,
and in laboratories. The highefficiency
submicron particulate air
filter element (HEPA) cannot be
exchanged.
Filter frames for wall or ceiling installation
Characteristics
Designation
Wall frames for air filters
CDD
Ceiling air outlet
CGF
These wall filter frames are made of
galvanized or stainless steel. Four
spring clamps hold the air filters to
the frame. The frames can be bolted
together to form a filter wall.
This filter housing consists of sheet
steel with powder-coat finish (colour
shade RAL 9010). A shut-off flap can
be installed in the intake-air fitting
at the side. The flap, which closes
airtight, can be operated manually
or electrically (as per DIN 1946, Part
4). The enclosure is equipped with a
device that checks to ensure that the
filter is seated airtight. It also has a
pressure-gauge connection fitting,
and a fitting for oil-mist passage.
Various air distributors can be
connected to the CGF ceiling air
outlet by means of central of 4-point
fastenings.
