June means Summer is upon us and things are certainly heating up at the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce. The recent
announcements regarding our area’s improving employment rate, the increase in construction permitting and the buzz about the
planned Hard Rock Hotel and Café have generated a great deal of enthusiasm among our members. The economic progress
reflects a positive trend that will lead to greater business opportunities ahead and the Chamber is doing its part to help our
community capitalize.
Since the beginning of the year, various committees of the Daytona Regional Chamber have reported great progress of their own,
including graduation of our 33rd Leadership Class, improvements to the Chamber’s website, new surveys designed to gather
member feedback and increase membership value, numerous events allowing members one-on-one exposure to local, state and
federal officials, a new retired executive membership status and expansion of our Volusia Tech Council offerings, to name just a
few.
In addition, the Presidential Search Committee continues its momentum, having developed and distributed the president’s job
description & qualifications to a nationwide audience. Already, a number of applicants have submitted their professional resumes
for consideration.
Finally, June is full of different networking, social and educational events; so be sure to check the Chamber’s website for details.
And don’t forget to attend the Center for Business Excellence’s 9th annual Business Summit on June 11th at the Daytona Hilton
featuring a comprehensive review of the Affordable Care Act and its impact on your business.

The Young Professionals are actively fulfilling their
mission to “attract and retain” other Young
Professionals to the Greater Daytona Beach Area.
West Volusia YPG has grown to over 50 members,
and now has a full board for the first time ever.
May was a fun month for young professionals, as
they had their third Thursday Networking Social at
the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort’s pool
deck overlooking the ocean! June will bring the
Daytona YPG to the Cubs game for a VIP party in
the Budweiser Bullpen. West Volusia YPG’s social
will be held at The Abbey in DeLand on Thursday,
June 13th.
The YPG’s 2nd Quarter Power Lunch will feature
guest speaker and Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick
Henry at Florida Hospital on Thursday, June 13th.
