Conducted the third annual Army Financial Improvement Workshop in July 2012 for
more than 200 attendees.
For FY 2012, the Army updated its audit readiness plans based on Secretary of Defense Leon E.
Panetta’s “Improving Financial Information and Achieving Audit Readiness” Memorandum
dated October 13, 2011. In it, all military services must achieve audit readiness for the SBR by
the end of FY 2014. The Army plans to assert audit readiness for the SBR by June 2014.
The milestone chart below (Figure ii) highlights the changes resulting from Secretary Panetta’s
directive. To achieve DoD’s SBR audit readiness goal, the Army removed SBR Exam 4,
previously scheduled to occur in FY 2014, in place of the full SBR assertion.
